How should I wear my hair?

I'm going to Bermuda. And i've been told that it is very humid there, and I plan on being in the water doing various activities...

I can always wear a bun, which I plan on doing for part of the time, but what else?

I will not be wearing any fake hair whatsoever on this trip...

I'm style challenged and certainly don't know the terminology but how about side ponytails, side braids, pigtails look really cute in a sexy way with a bathing suit on ( or at least I think so).

I think braid outs might be your best friend. It allows your hair to be styled messy with no worries. I would also take a headband or two. Maybe a banana clip.

 This style is shouting porn star to me..

But I can def see myself wearing the side braid with a bun, or a single braid or something :yep:

Thank you for reminding me of the banana clip

I hate how my hair looks with braidouts MOST of the time. Maybe I could try a braidout banana clip bun?

You can do any styles you want, wear it straight, twist out/bantu knot out, pony, pinned with bangs etc

I'm thinking I will go with my hair straight, and from there style as it goes down hill :look:

 But fishtails are so hawt!! I need to learn how to do one :yep:

Definitely take a banana clip!

You can bun with it or do a ponytail.

Curlybeauty this is my plan for when I go home to the humidity of the lovely equator. Flat iron here and style as it fros up in the humidity  I think I'll mostly do twist outs with really cute accessories :yep:

I just got home from Jamaica and wore my hair in a braidout for the week. It seemed to expand day to day with all the heat, but was low manipulation and also easy to clip up when I wanted it off my face and back. :yep:

ETA: One thing I like about braidouts is that I can add a lot of product without getting a weighed down look. I applied a lot of conditioner and oil and it looked really cute and stayed soft all week.

how do people get their braidouts/twistouts to keep some definition? When i try them and there's high humidity/threat of rain, my hair just frizzes and swells and I usually end up pulling my hair back by the time I get to work. Or if I tried a bantu knots/chiney bumps it soon looks pretty limp.

Have you tried adding some wrapping foam or gel to the twists? Mine last pretty long even in humidity (on straight hair) it may get a bit bigger though. I use heavy butters lightly or very little fantasia gel on mine.

The humidity doesn't really affect, the quality of your non-heat styles. i mean they will blow up, but slowly and in a lovely way.

But it is hot hot hot right now and its only going to get hotter. So think of styles that won't induce a sweaty faint.

Also the water hair sucks so bring conditioners and ph regulators, if ur hair is used to soft water etc.

I like a single braid over the shoulder, braided pig tails, braid outs, and bantu knot outs.

Be sure to carry a small tube of leave in conditioner or regular conditioner. When I got out of the water I would rub some in, finger comb, and bun. This kept my hair soft and easy to detangle.

hothair I have fine strands that get weighed down easily, so i'm probably too lighthanded with styling products thinking that I'll end up with greasy hair. I have some ecostyler gel and aloe vera gel but since they're both light and the ecostyler doesn't flake i should probably try using it more. I don't have wrapping foam, but i might have to look into that...
thnx for the reminder/suggestion. i'll have to experiment a bit more.

 hahaha your hair looks a thicker than mine, I'm fine haired too, you only need a little bit and when doing the twistouts/bantu knot outs trying doing them the twists the night before or rocking the style for a day or so, the products would have absorbed by the time you let it down.
