Hi, Ladies. I'm wondering at what point or how long did it take for your hair to start hanging downward? I'm all natural and 8 months post relaxer. My hair is still round

! I don't have to force it that way, it just is that way.

When will it start to hang to more like ?

Of course I know it won't be that long right away, but at least some hanging curls? Thx

:lachen: at the smilies!! im like 18 months post and some days my hair hangs, some days it sticks out...it all depends on product/technique and what the weather is like...i dont expect my hair to have serious hang time all the time until im atleast a couple inches past APL.

I have a very small curl pattern with 60% to 80% shrinkage. My hair is SL about 7" and it does not yet hang down. I am not expecting to see any hangtime before 10". Not sure if it will hang then. Will have to wait and see.

Sorry, can't help with your question; just wanted to say I love the "my hair is still round" smiley face!

Hangtime? What's that?

My hair at 3-inch TWA:

And after I straightened it

For the record, I'm 4B with fine hair, if that helps.

The only time I get hangtime is when I wear twists and do a WNG on twists.

Thanks! That does help put things in perspective!

i"m APL now and i've yet to see hang time:lol:. I think hair hanging downward mostly depends on the person's hair texture and manipulation techniques.

I'm a true 4b and I highly suspect even at waist length i'll still not get any hang time

I am 4a and for me it was collarbone length. Now I am APL stretched and my technique changes my hang time. For instance if I use KCKT and KCCC alone I have neck length curly hair but when I use them with plopping I have shoulder length hair curly.

That is news to me! I guess I assumed everyone's hair would hang eventually!

It kinda sneaks up on you, I have photos from a wedding in November when my hair still grew out into an afro for my wash n go but now it grows down. I don't know that I'd attribute it to products or technique because neither has changed, my hair just got a bit longer. It started at about 20 months post relaxer

ETA I added a photo comparison, wedding hair in November (18months post) vs March hair (22 months post)

That's good to know because I think I'm 4a too (although I REALLY despise typing!) At least I know it's possible!

Wow! Thanks, Zaz! Sneaks up on you? Maybe it'll sneak up on me in another year! And if it doesn't I guess I'd better learn some stretched styles! Cute dress too!

i am 4a tightly coiled, past collarbone, and i still have no hang time. ecostyler does give me a little bit of hang, but i have to use a lot. maybe when i get to MBL i might have some hang time.

Thanks! I think your hair is hanging in your siggy. It definitely doesn't still look round like mine!
