They do this mess on toddles and tiaras on TLC, this ish is legal.....SMH

Don't even get me started on that show and kiddy pageants. Why can't little girls just be little girls.

Now this little girl is going to think she is not pretty and her hair is only acceptable unless she has a head full of remy (or whatever else) in her head.

Come on now. I don't even like seeing those child beauty pageants where they pile on the fake hair on those little girls heads.

Notice how she disabled the comments. This is just too bad.

The difference is the wigs and weaves are just for showing at that particular time. They come off after the competition. For this little girl, the weaves are a consistent hair style.

I have a cousin who does this to her child. Her real hair is so HARD from the mother spritzing all that mess in it.

I'm not a mother but I can only assume this could damage that child's hair growth permanently. I doubt this is baby's first weave considering the state of her hairline.

Very true.

I guess the bigger issue for me is the tight braids. That baby is clearly missing a good part of her hairline. Even without the weave that hairstyle would still be cringe-worthy because the braids are way too tight.

oh, no the braids need to be tight--can't have her own hair sticking out of the weave! Ugh!!!!!:wallbash:

It angers me to see the damage people do to their kid's heads, both on top and inside. From the braids it looks like that baby has plenty of hair. I hate fake hair of any kind on children. It's just screaming "because your own hair ain't good enough"! Wish I could have seen the coments before she disabled them!

I don't usually make comments like this, but that woman just comes off as ignorant. I hope she's just as motivated to make her child do well in school and grow up to be somebody.

WoW! This little girl/has no hair-line..Must be from the tight braids..

Why can a 2year old be a 2 year old...The mother should give her a nice style for a little girl..(NO WEAVE)

Hope it doesn't effect her self esteem as she grows...

Happy Hair Growing!

I guess I am a little old fashioned in my belief that weaves are a "big girl / adult" hair style. Three year old children should not wear them, they should stick to "kiddy" styles.

That's not old fashioned at all...that's just common sense!

I grew up in a time where "fake hair", weaves, falls, extensions, etc was for grown women. Not teens, not children and certainty not babies. It seems the parents or caretakers of this baby have some sort of mental illness and/or substance abuse problem; no sane person would do this. :nono:

Well dang looking at the response vid, I can tell SHE has no hairline! Why we keep setting ourselves and offspring up for failure is beyond me...

She's not being truthful when she says she doesn't mind comments from people. Why disable the comments part? If she felt what she was doing was okay, why make a video defending her actions. I hurt looking at the little girl's face, she wasn't happy at all!!

Oh boy. Watching the response video. :perplexed:perplexed:perplexed

I don't understand why try to justify it. We get that she obviously didn't think it was a big deal (you posted in YT). Just as an observation and not a slam, I don't think she is worried about losing edges because her edges look the same as her daughter's. Just breaks my heart because its so unnecessary.

OMG...the response vid is worse! That baby is 2??? I love how she tries to justify it in the name hair health: "that flat iron is too much heat!" and "Her hair is protected." I also don't think it's a great feat in child rearing to do less than they do on toddlers and tiaras. Annnd to top it all off, after "it's not like those girls in pageants, blah blah blah..." it's "and by the way [baby] IS gonna be in pageants." And the best part: "If I'm right or wrong let me know" now let me go disable these comments!

ETA: Oh, we can let her know on the voting buttons. Cool! I was #423!!! Hey, she said "let me know!"
