but loves the shea moisture products? 'cause if i hear one more good review, i'ma cave in to see what the hype is about!:lachen: my hair isn't fond of anything with shea, so i'd really hate to waste my money.

My hair hates shea butter and all or most products that contain a lot of shea butter. Shea moisture products are ok, mainly because my hair doesnt like shea butter but also because the products are ok:grin:

I would NOT recommended the Deep Conditioner, it was like putting watered down conditioner on my hair.
I would recommend the Shea Moisture Shampoo, it gives my hair a very LIGHT conditioned feel..which says a lot for a shampoo!!

Yes, my hair hates shea butter. I tried the shea butter from www.nasabb.com on my hair years ago, and it did nothing for my hair but form tiny little balls on my hair strands. It didn't melt into my hair like it does for some people.

My hair loves Unrefined East African Shea Butter ONLY. If I were to use another type of Shea Butter, my hair would feel coated and become dry.

The jury is still out. The Shea Moisture smoothy does seem to make my hair softer, but it also makes it look like I rubbed dirt in it :perplexed

So not sure if it is a combo of products or just my hair doesn't like butters. If your hair likes butters in general, maybe. But if your hair doesn't like butters, I wouldn't just run out and buy this.

I like the curling enhancing smoothie but it doesn't enchance my curls at all. I use it for conditioning and hold. Pure shea butter or even a homemade shea butter mix variation I tried doesn't work for me at all. The shampoo was okay. I had to lather twice and it didn't get all the product out for it. I did make my hair feel conditoned though. The mask is a fail and the milk is just okay.

My hair's not wild about shea butter at all but it likes :lick:  the moisture spray. I like the shampoo too. It doesn't make me itch! :woot: The jury's still out on the elixir and smoothie though.

What I've noticed is that this stuff, while it makes my hair feel good, it also...... turns it into a puff ball. I had definition before... now... not so much. :nono: I tried gel over it (Fantasia IC Olive) and it was sooooo soft you guys... but had virtually no hold. My hair just waved up but it wasn't "slick" ya know?

But... my hair's soft and smells good. AND it's not greasy. I love the mist under QB's AOHC. :yep:

My hair despises plain shea butter (and coconut oil, for that matter) but seems to love products that contain either of those ingredients... who knows why.
I personally love the Moisture Mist, the DT Masque, and the Coconut Curl & Style Milk.
Hair did NOT like the Restorative Milk (I was using it as a leave-in and found out at my next wash that it was only making my hair feel like it was moisturized but really wasn't... don't know why) and also does not like the smoothie. The smoothie was like adding plain shea butter to my hair. It made it really dull and, did the opposite of defining my curls - instead, it made them sort of stick together even though it isn't sticky. Basically, the same thing plain shea butter does to my hair.
I also tried the elixir and I will use it until it's done but don't plan to repurchase.

My daughter's hair and my hair both HAAATE pure unrefined shea butter, but we loooove Shea Moisture products. The curl enhancing smoothie doesn't enhance jack squat but it keeps her braids and ponytails moisturized for weeks at a time. My hair LOVES the moisture retention shampoo and the restorative conditioner. I would be lost if it weren't for those two products.

hmm... shampoo is cool, the smoothie sucks for hold, but softens. that sounds ok 'cause i don't use products for hold anyway

My hair Hates, Hates, say it again, HATES shea butter or any derivative thereof. I also hear so many wonderful reviews of the Shea Moisture line...but I dare only to dream. My hairs would leap (individually) out of my scalp and proceed to collectively whoop my arse, with a switch, on a bare bottom, in public. You get the point. But I can admire all of the beautiful heads that respond lovingly to it.

I guess the op was wondering more so about shea moisture prod.
But I've been wondering (sorry to smwhat hijack) is it shea or african butter that i've actually been using.?. well I've tried the white and bright yellow and my hair didn't like them used alone. And the smell of the white one (I guess this is really shea bc the way the smell has been described) I could NOT stand it. Well said all this to say after experimenting with mixing...my hair almost can't go without sealing with the yellow (African) butter. I mix it with oils (castor, jojba, olive, and essential oils) and it smells delightful and helps keep ssk's away used on my natural hair.

Wow, I'm so glad I'm not alone in this one. My hair really hates shea butter. I heard so many great reviews on it, I went full force and bought 3 pounds of the thing LOL (the pure, unrefined, AAA grade, etc, etc). I would've gotten over the smell if it would've made my hair super soft and luscious, but it didn't (hard and greasy instead, and the smell just made it worse).

Say, anybody want a huge block of shea butter? :)

I haven't tried the Sea moisture products for the same reason as you, OP. After reading some of the posts, might give the shampoo and smoothie a try.

Yes, I stop using shea butter on both my hair and body over a year ago. Now I buy Shea Oil, which penetrate much better.

I love the Shea Moisture line (or at least the particular products i use) but I only use pure shea butter on my skin. It's too hard to rub in to use it on my hair. I think that it would also make my hair dull looking. The product line has a lot of other good ingredients in it that my hair likes so that's probably why I like it.

Yes, lawd!!! but I love it melted mixed with conditioner to make a deep conditioner!!! soo sofftttt!!! mmmmmm!!!

I got some raw shea butter from the local African store recently to experiment with. It smells weird, but I like how it coats my ends and I have noticed less SSK's. I just let it melt in my hand and rub it in, on top of my regular leave-in. I love it on my skin too - I have eczema. If only it smelled better.

As far as the shea moisture, I have tried, the curl and style milk, and it smells delicious! I still prefer my hawaiian silky though.

I was not impressed with the shea moisture deep treatment masque.

suns4i6e you are a FOOL! I feel you, though....that's why I haven't tried any of their products, too scared my hair would rebel against me. I can use mango butter and avocado butter, but shea butter? Nuh-uh. I bought a tub of it, whipped it up real good with some oils....and had to give it away. It didn't even really do anything for my skin. I was SO sad.
