I have been a member of LHCF for a long time and still can't figure this out. If you ladies could help me out, that would be great. I just want an opinion on my hair type. Do you think I am 4A or 4B.....my guess is 4B....the first 2 pics are my hair @ 4 months post relaxer freshly washed. The 3rd is my AIR DRIED hair after co-wash. The last is a Cali Press 1 week later. I get my hair relaxed every 16 weeks with Affirm Fiber Guard. Thanks in advance. ****I AM JUST ASKING FOR OPINIONS, SO FEEL FREE TO LEAVE A QUICK COMMENT:)

Its not enough NG for me to tell, but honestly to me I'm not even sure its type 4! Maybe its just because its not enough to tell?

Very lovely healthy hair but we need more growth and usually relaxed ends off (I can personally vouche that they effect hair soo much)) to tell. The curl pattern is what we're looking for in terms of type and it's hard to tell when you have straight ends.

Thanks for your response, I am not trying to go natural, so the relaxed ends have to stay on...lol...I have like 2 inches of new growth in the pics....maybe I need to post another pic with my dry hair????

There's not enough NG to tell. But you are in the 4 family, from what I can tell I'd say most likely 4a, but I'd need more NG to really be able to discern a pattern.

It's so hard to tell because some people automatically see coarseness and say 'oh, you're 4 something' and others see silky texture and automatically place you in a 3 category.

It's all about curl pattern and it is again hard to tell with the straight ends. I would safely put you in a 4a going by what I see alone but I could be terribly wrong as well.

This is true! I'm a 4a with a tiny bit of 4b. Some days I have visible defined and clumped curls, and other times my hair is a puffy cloud...and there's always shrinkage.

YEAH!

I seriously think that the a-z factor is determined by the present protein moisture balance. I mean, I know I can go from A to Z lmao! and dont even LET me allow it to mat (or HOWEVER it's spelled dont care) up. aint enough letters in the alphabet for that! well..I can think of four letters(hahaha!)

Girl that looks exactly like my NG and I am a 4ab take a look at my natural me pics in my album
