Congrats on your beautiful journey! beautiful hair! What do your friends and family think about your progress?

A few of my friends tease me..They make jokes that it's the "African juices and berries" that made my hair grow. They say I can make a sandwich with all the mayo and eggs I put in my hair. I tried to tell a few of them about LHCF, even brought one of my girlfriends to the forum. She laughed and said why are all these women sitting around wasting their day away talking about hair. She has traction alopecia. wears her micros for 6-9months at a time. Doesn't believe in deep conditioning, "that's for white girls". Oh Well. I tried. :look:

Close family notices the progress. Distant family asks who did my sew-in:ohwell: ..weave checks have become a frequent thing..from strangers, friends..even caught a white male coworker..I don't mind the curiosity, but I do mind the dirty fingers probing my scalp! :perplexed

Wow what an inspiration this thread is! I transitioned for about 14 months recently but in April, I cut off all of my old chemical & retouched my curly perm. So I'm prettymuch NL/CBL myself now.

I'm trying to keep it simple & stay off these bandwagons (minus the Nioxin vits I'll be ordering soon). I can only hope that I can retain this much length in the next 3 years.

Congrats on your progress!!!!

I didn't BC, just trimmed away the relaxed ends month by month until it was all gone. Then I just stuck with braidouts to camouflage the difference in textures.. What is your goal length, Nakialovesshoes?

I'm trying to stay away from bandwagons too! (but some of them are so tempting :spinning:

AngelEyez My goal is to have my hair touch my tramp stamp, so I guess that's grazing hip length. I realized that I was getting good retention when I was only straightening my hair once or twice a year so I'm on a personal no-heat challenge for a year.

I'm trying to only straighten once a year for a length check until I at least make it to WL.

Beautiful hair and you are very pretty!

OMG please show us how you did that Hello Kitty bow, that is TOO cute!

ETA: What does your grandma think of your hair now?

THANK YOU  I'll post a pictorial of the hair bow soon :)

*She's still not a fan when I wear it in its' natural straight but she LOVES it when its straightened. The thing is she's natural herself so I don't get it *shrugs*

Oh well, can't please everybody all of the time! She'll come around eventually. And if not it's okay. :yep:
