Well, now I know what happens to products that people return. I guess they get put back on the shelves for someone else to buy. :nono:

SMH. I'm going to give Sally's the benefit of the doubt and say that a shopper tampered with it in the store...

that's why i always look for the fullest bottle... as long as it's clear enough to see

That's why I always reach behind the first few bottles..I don't want nothin thats been opened, dropped, tested...

Well if it's not half-way, they have to make a profit some how if someone returns a barely used product and they have to give back money. It's up to you to look for the unused looking, full ones!

Maybe a shopper tampered with it.
It reminds me off the time I first joined the these boards and I was reading so much about Mane N Tail, well one time I saw the hair cream in the shop you know the one in the tubs.
Well I wanted to smell it so I opened it up and smelled it.
Well I thought that all hair products that came in a tub were off a non-runny consistency like dax... so when I went to smell it I spilt it all over my jeans.
I was so embarrassed because it was all over me and I had to quickly put it back on the shelf and clean off all the cream with my hands before any of the staff saw.

Reaching in the back doesn't ensure anything ..

For every person who slips up and puts a defected product in the front, there are 10 more hiding products that have been sampled/dropped/etc. in the back.

It was probably missed during inspection during the manufacturing process ..

A customer probably sampled it. Stores do restock previously purchased beauty items. Nothing new really. Some of them mark them down, others look and see if they have been used and damage them out.

Half the time, you probably will never know...trust that. Shoot, draws and stuff get returned all the time at the store and they get put back out.

well...unless they put a new pump on it i dont see any product at the tip of the pump. that's how i look at stuff to make sure no one played around with it.

:lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen: Naughty Naughty!!!

Yup. I was at Bed, Bath & Beyond and picked up a bottle of CHI Silk Infusion (i think thats the name) serum. Now this is a thick serum. The bottle was sucked in on the sides, and when I shook it, it sounded like there was water in the bottle. I told an associate this is either a bad product or some put water in it, cause the consistency does not seem right. I'm sure she put right back on the shelf. Sad, but people tamper, with products and stores don't check to be sure. All returned hair products should be damaged out, in a perfect world.

The only store I know that does not put returned items back on the shelf is whole foods. I asked once and was told me that they are sent back to the company.

LOL!!! maybe it spilled somewhere between leaving the warehouse and arriving at the store and they cleaned the bottle up and still decided to sell...maybe...lol

I dont know but the bottle in the center is just so obvious that its been tampered with.

Also, this is shampoo so I doubt someone is going to sample right in the store and you really can't go by if there is product in the pump because you can unscrew the pump to use it.

If this is was a manufacturing process issue well then I'm SMH- either way I'm still SMH cause you and I both know that used products are making it right back on the shelves.

Not saying they didn't put it back after being used, but sometimes it really is a manufacturing problem. I worked at a store once and was stocking some garnier and one of the six bottles was LESS than half full coming straight out of the box. And none had spilled in the box either.

I always check the seals before I but things bag up at the store I work at.

The pump is still closed though, you know how you have to press and turn plumps so they pop up? They are easy enough to close back but if you are returning something I don't know why you would waste time doing that.

I found a 2 liter bottle like that!!! It was a couple of inches less full than the others.
We also had a homeless guy always come in and open the bakery pies, scoop some out eat it and close it back... it was very gross :(

My bad OP. I was sampling the conditioner and got too much of it. I didn't think anyone would notice... :drunk:

Agree, the pumps look clean. I just think that they don't get filled to the top when packaging it sometimes.

It looks like it came from the manufacturer that way. That looks too clean and new to have been tampered with.

And I know cause I tamper with products all the time (especially when they don't have testers or samples). :look:

....just kidding....or maybe, not kidding.:look:

:lachen: Finally, someone willing to admit it. Come on now, I know there's more of you out there..... If you don't wanna say it here, go to the "I'm too ashamed to admit..." thread. They won't judge you there.
