Is there a product that turned your HHJ around? Is there a product that you would be a spokesperson for if you could? Tell us:

  1. The product
  2. How you use it
  3. What it did for you

1. Chagrin Valley Milk & Honey Poo Bar
2. I used it to wash my hair but I no longer use it
3. It was the first sulfate-free shampoo I'd ever used and I felt the difference in how moisturized my hair felt immediately. Haven't gone back to SLS shampoo since

Mane N Tail Detangler-has saved me from alot of breakage after washing.
Aphogee Kertain and Tea Reconstructor- strengthen my hair so much
Aphogee for Damaged Hair
ORS Replenshing Conditioner

  1. The product - Herbal Essence Long Term Relationship
  2. How you use it - As a leave in and a Moisturizer
  3. What it did for you - It leaves my hair moisturized, soft & bouncy, and NOT greasy

1. The product - AO HSR conditioner
2. How you use it - I use it to DC once or twice a month and as a daily moisturizing spritz (5 parts water, 1 part AO HSR)
3. What it did for you - In conjunction with following a low manipulation regimen (30 braids, braided into 2 big braids with ends tucked), this conditioner leaves my ends soft and has virtually stopped breakage in its tracks.

1.The product: Miss jessies; creme de la curl, creme de la creme, recovery treatment
2.How you use it: I wash with creme de la curl and rinse. Then i put the recovery treatment in my hair. Leave in for 5 minutes and rinse. After that i put creme de la creme conditioner as a leave in and come my hair.
3.What it did for you: I retained my length since i´m using these products. I was first against silicones for a whole year and my length was hard to mantain..but since i´m using these products my hair grew from above MBL to HL with no problems at all!! I,m natural type 3A but i bleach my hair...
I LOVE MISS JESSIES!!

1. The product: Coconut oil
2. How you use it: I use it for overnight pre-wash treatments and to seal the length of my hair.
3. What it did for you?: Made my hair stronger over time so there is less breakage esp. since I comb my hair while it's wet/damp. Hair doesn't split as much because of it too.

Verifen Complex was the icing on the cake. I was already doing a lot of good things for my hair, but I wasn't aware of it until I read their hair guides.

None of the Verifen products need doctoring up, so you save a lot of time on your hair--plus they are concentrated. A little goes a long way. In other words, you don't have to add any oil, honey, glycerin, shea butter, etc., or anything to them. Nor do you need to do a hot oil treatment, pre-shampoo treatment, conditioning wash, etc. Just use them straight from the jar or bottle.

Aphogee 2 Minute reconstructor HANDS DOWN!
I use it every 2 weeks or so...I've been using it for so long that I can tell when my hair "needs" it. After shampooing, I apply it generously focusing on my ends and rinse thoroughly.

It has turned my hair's health around and makes it feel so good. Being chemically treated my hair needs all the protein it can get. I would totally be a spokeswoman for it!

Product: Roux Porosity Control OR other Acidifying Conditioner

How Did I Use It: As a Final Cold Water Rinse, after Deep Conditioning with Heat (as per the directions)

What It Did For My Hair: I was 'told' I had Overly Porous Hair from Over/Double/Triple Processing and using an Acidifying Conditioner as a Final Rinse Health restrict my Cuticle and cause it to lie flat after Deep Conditioning with Heat to retain & absorb moisture.

Product: Roux Porosity Control

Co-sign! :yep:

How I use it:

After shampoo, before deep conditioning. I use it this way as opposed to a final rinse, because as a last step, it made my hair feel hard. I still saw a major turn around in my hair :yep:

What it did for my hair:

Helped my overly porous, over-processed hair retain moisture by helping the cuticle lay flat due to its low pH.

Henna and incorporating ceramide oils also played a major role in getting the porosity back to normal.

How I use them:

Henna: About every 6 weeks; either full strength with just hot water and a squirt of oil OR a gloss which is henna water & conditioner.

Ceramide oils: I use hemp oil and rice bran oil. I seal daily and pre-shampoo treatments with them.

The product: Silicon Mix Conditioner
How you use it: I use it to co-wash, to dc, and lightly as a leave in
What it did for you: It moisturizes my hair and makes it super soft. I don't have to moisturize as often, I don't use any heat since using this conditioner. I only airdry. My hair is bouncy and smells really good.

I think three products:

1) JBCO
When I started my HHJ, my hair was "sickly" thin. Daily use of JBCO helped nurse my hair back to health.

I applied it to my (damp) hair at night before twisting. In the morning, I would either co-wash or rinse the excess out. I also use a few drops in my daily moisturizing cream.

2) Roux Porosity Control
Before I started using this, my hair dried in literally minutes. By incorporating this into my weekly routine, I am retaining more moisture. I was able to permanently color my hair without issues because this is part of routine.

I use this in between shampoo and a protein (with heat) condish.

3) Megatek
My hair seems to love this protein condish. I like that it doubles (when mixed) as a scalp treatment.

I err on the side of caution and use it with a moisture program consisting of a moisture pre-poo and a moisture DC once a week.

The product - Ojon's dry recovery product line (it had a different name @ the time) and H2-Ion's leave in condish ( I don't know if they are still in biz)
How you use it - used the shampoo, condish, and restorative hair treatment (overnight +heat or + plastic cap)
What it did for you - restored moisture to my parched strands!!

I must say after a while I stopped using these products b/c they didn't seem to give me the same results (probaly needed to clarify but didn't know that at the time) and also they were pricey(just looked at the website they have lowered their prices almost by half of what I was paying:ohwell:). I have since found more natural plant based products that give the same results but, I have to give credit where credit is due.

Product: Olive oil and also my denman brush

How you use it: I do oil rinses with olive oil on wash day/ detangle my hair in sections

What it did for you:
My moisture retention increased exponentially thanks to oil rinsing on wash day. My hair is still soft after it dries and I barely have to moisturize at all after wash day.

The denman brush helps get all my shed hair out when detangling. I was using a wide tooth comb my entire life. Yes the comb detangled my hair, but I never got all the shed hairs out because my hair is so thick. The denman is very thorough and its faster to detangle.

*Aussie Moist Conditioner :yep:
*Over dry hair to act as a gel, over wet hair to moisturise, as a base for DC concoctions.
*This product has been my go to, its been a huge part in me retaining growth..my hair doesn't dry out near as much as it used to!

The product: Shescentit Forifying Masque
How you use it: Deep Conditoner
What it did for you: Gives my hair moisture and protein balance, makes it super soft and bouncy. And I don't have to use any moisturizers at all.

Product: Scurl, Queen Helene Cholesterol Conditioner

How You Use It: (I don't use Scurl anymore because I make my own spray now - it's cheaper) I used Scurl to moisturize my hair every night and then I baggyed before going to bed.

Queen Helene Conditioner - I still use this as my go-to deep conditioner base. I mix it with honey and olive oil for more moisture or I'll mix it with mayo for more protein.

What It Did For You: Scurl - This kept my hair well moisturized throughout the week and helped stop all the breakage.

QH - My hair was always dry and straw-like and I always got massive breakage after washing it. After the first time I used this it made my hair feel soft and manageable. I could actually comb it. It also strengthened my hair and also helped stop breakage like Scurl did. My hair just felt amazing.

Product Name: Aphogee 2 Minute Keratin Reconstructor
How I use it: To strengthen my hair and stop minor breakage
