i have no clue, but i'm going to bump this for you. i just embrace it and pick it out. maybe certain products can help. i love how my hair felt with all of the humidity.

Humidity is the best friend of natural hair (unless you're trying to wear it straight). Just style your hair according to the weather. Stretched hair won't shrink all the way down unless immersed in water and for what it's worth hair tends to grow faster in humidity.

I agree with avoiding products with glycerine for sure...

Also, gels or something that will provide your hair with hold help also.

thanks for the replies!
I don't use cones..so I'll try shea butter .. Nd I don't use anything with glycerin, bcuz I hate how it acts in different weathers.
my hair loves humidity..i think my hair is high porosity.

I blow dry my hair on cool using Redken's Smooth Down Detangling Cream. Then I twist my hair with a pomade. I usually apply a tiny bit of serum to my hair before I curl it with flexirods.

I was standing right in front of the Aveda Anti-Humectant last week, but I didn't pick it up. I think I'll pick it up when I see it again.

just wanted to update yall..to tell you shea butter worked!!!
I made a whip with shea butter and coconut oil. Nd used a tad on each twist after using my moisturizer nd before twisting it and putting on my rollers.

^^^^this. I use the curly primer method, let my hair get about 85% dry and then twist, adding a little gel to each section. I do this at night and take the twists out in the morning and even in high humidity and/or rain, my hair stays stretched and defined, with very little frizz. I think the more moisture that's in your hair, the less it will try to suck up moisture from the humid air.

HE Tousle Me softly Cream seems to work well also if you're not fond of gels.

IMO, some poof is inevitable because the cuticles of our hair does not lay down flat like people who have naturally straight hair. All curly haired folks experience some poof in humid conditions because our hair holds on to the water from the atmosphere. To reduce it you can try an anti humectant hair products. I can't vouch for them though because I have never tried any....

@Zay-neey and @shortdub78
Use a good anti-humidity product like Aveda's Brilliant anti-humectant pomade http://www.google.com/products/cata...=X&ei=6Hq5TZaBEpC2tgf5w7TeBA&ved=0CFQQ8wIwBA#
Sabino's Lok and Blok- http://www.amazon.com/Sabino-Hair-Solutions-Lok-Blok/dp/B003IUEDJS
or just a good ole hair serum like Proclaim's glossing serum -www.sallybeauty.com

I have the Aveda antihumectant. I've just used it on my edges. How do you use it on the rest of your hair. Oh, for other posters I paid $22 for 2oz.
