I've been reading about different ladies having success with behive braids under their wigs. I had it done twice and it seemed like I lost hair when it was taken down. I went back and checked threads where people used the behive and they seemed to be all natural. I am relaxed . What are your thougts or experience with behives and relaxed hair.

Depends on how many weeks post you are, if your hair is fine or not, and the overall condition of the hair.

I would put two braids going from the center circling around the head to the back of the head on each side on the perimeter, and then beehive the inner portion.

Is it better to braid when you have more new growth or closer to a fresh relaxer?

If you leave a significant amount of texture after being TU then you can braid it with a fresh relaxer if not then you have to wait atleast 3 months.

Once when I got a cut I did not like and went to the Africans to get braided they made me wait til I had more NG. It would have resulted in breakage if they would have done it then.

When the braides are in you have to get a decent moisturizing spray to use when they are in as well a an protein spray

go on the growafrohairlong.com website to see how its done, its called the crown and glory method

That would explain why I had breakage. I only waited one week post and I generally leave only a little texture.
