Everyone has hair struggles at one time or another....everyone. EVERYONE![]()
That video is from last May. And it doesn't even matter anymore because she cut all her hair off today.

people should just really say how they feel. tell the truth. you feel like to be apart of the natural hair journey, struggle, you have to have type 4 hair. just go a head and say it.
because Taren cant possibly have hair issues. shoot she got dat good hurrrrrr.
She kinda looks like Debbie Allen. She looks really happy.I think it looks cute on her! I think that if you've never been short, it's a liberating thing to do.

i remember when she made that video.Funny you say that because people were giving the side eye when Taren made that video about needing to have kinky hair to be in the "natural hair community" too...you mad?![]()
I feel 2 different ways about this:
1) Everyone has their hair struggle, so why is it that only certain people can complain? Both straight and kinky hair types (and every type in between) have their own individual issues. Pin straight ladies complain about lack of volume and curly/kinky types complain about shrinkage and tangles.
2) I don't think this is a good/bad hair debate like some in here are making it seem. A type 1 person going around calling her hair nappy and unmanageable (yes, I've seen it happen) does warrant a side-eye, because a) her hair isn't nappy b) if she actually had kinky hair, then she wouldn't go around complaining about her straight hair being "nappy." That's like someone like Zoe Saldana going around complaining about how fat she is knowing good and well she isn't. Folks would be all on her like, "girl, go get yourself some real issues."
Gina has a right to complain about her hair!
Some ladies really do be going balls to the wall when it comes to this natural hair stuff, I did not know being a natural had so many rules
I go through what Gina was explaining in that video just about every day, although i am not natural anymore my hair still behaves & looks natural. And it is so tiresome to have to do my hair. Everyday i have to remind myself that it is JUST HAIR!
BUT.. If some one would have the nerve to tell me "Suck it up, You dont have my hair type".. i would have to cut them with my denman brush![]()

I've seen a countless number of threads created that basically deem type 3 hair as superior. From the responses in this thread, it appears to be considered legit if you have type 4 hair. So basically on LHCF, you're more legit and have to go through a power struggle if your hair is in the 4 category? In contrast, you're superior and get to walk a bed of sweet smelling roses if you have type 3 hair? :Rose: What a conundrum...
