What's better than Aphogee 2 Min?

I was reading the thread about which products you used to love, but have since out-grown, and a lot of ladies mentioned the Aphogee 2 min, which I love and use every wash (yes, my hair is that fine :ohwell:). But if it's not the greatest, I'm definitely willing to spend a lil change on a good condish, so spill it ladies, what's better and why?

Nothing's better. I've been using this weekly (trying to stretch bottles so now every two weeks) since my bc in '09. This is the best protein treatment for my hair because it also moisturizes.

As for you, why try and fix what's not broken? If your hair responds well to it, then why switch it up because of what others are saying?

Haha I'm glad you started this thread b/c I was feeling the same way when I reasd that thread! I was like oh no! ApHogee 2 min isn't the best huh :perplexed (as well as people dissing my fav. DC ORS Repl. pack). Well I use it every week as well and I think it does a very good job no complaints. So I guess I shouldn't worry about it then. Someday I'll probably get around to trying Joico since I don't wanna feel out of the loop :look: but I'm in no rush.

I just switched to Joico K Pak, but I would be so selfish to not give props to Aphogee 2 min. Using it weekly when I first started caring for my hair really turned my hair around.

Aubrey Organic GPB Moisture Balancing Conditioner is the best mild-moderate protein treatment-- and overall conditioner that I have tried yet. I bought it and the Aphogee 2min at the same time and havent touched the Aphogee yet. This quickly moving to my #1 conditioner. You can get it at whole foods market or amazon.com

I have to second on Aubrey's Organics GPB Conditoner. This is the one I always go back to. It always leaves my hair feeling great and detangled. Please check my last blog post for more info on how it feels! Awesomeness!

Joico K-Pak. BUT I also like Aphogee 2min when I mix it with ORS Replenishing Pak after I take down braids. And it's cheaper.

I Use Aphogee 2 minute for 10 minutes and It is THE best on the shelf to me.

I have also bought Dudley's Hair Rebuilder. But Aphogee 2 minute is my weekly lover and I loves it dearly :lick:

I like nexxus emergencee. It's a lot more expensive but worth it
CurlyDiggy, I have some, but I just use it before and after TU's. I used to use it all the time before the board, but I think they changed the ingredients. I was thinking about incorporating it back into my reggie, maybe every 3 wks, but I feel some kinda way about the ingredients. I'll admit, I haven't memorized what all the INCI names for stuff, but all I see in Emergencee that looks interesting is the collagen and the elastin. I could have overlooked something, though, but if I'm right, I feel like I need some hard protein somewhere in my reggie.

i like smooth n shine 60 second reconstructor. its way better than aphogee to me. it comes in a tub for about 4.99.
sweetface252, Gotta love the cheapies. Anything special about the ingredients? I used to love this company's creamy heat protectant, but I can't find it anywhere. It's been at least a year, still no replacement.

To the ladies who love Joico , I have some, but it's super-watery. I got it from Loehmann's, so I have to ask, is it supposed to be that consistency? If so, I might have to mix it with something thicker, but I like the ingredients.

I also have a question about the Aubrey Organic GPB Moisture Balancing Conditioner: does it work better for naturals? Be honest, lol. Sometimes I feel like, when it comes to my hair, lab-manufactured chemicals did the damage, so lab-manufactured chemicals are required to fix it, you know? I don't know if it's right, but that's my little theory. So, if there are any relaxed heads that stan for this condish (Angelicus), please share why, and if you find yourself needing to supplement it with more 'chemically' :giggle: proteins.

Thank you ladies!

Hmm, nice theory, maybe that's why watered down or chemically stuff doesn't work on my hair. And the more natural, thick, organic products are amazing. The Aubrey organics isn't watered down like most conditioners (no water in the ingredients), and uses all natural products. I can appreciate that. Let us know what does the thing for you!

I just discovered the Aphogee 2 minute last year and it's better than pretty much anything that I've tried. I probably won't be going back to K Pak which just never seemed to do much but I was loyal too anyway. It's also better than Paul Mitchell Hair Repair Treatment and Redken's protein treatment in little vials/tubes. I also did not like Emergencee.
I do like Giovanni Smooth as Silk treatment, it's excellent for soft shiny hair but won't thicken the hair the way Aphogee will if that's what you need.
I would just experiment if I were you because your hair has probably gotten used to the Aphogee so it may be time for something new..

I have to co-sign on the compliments for AO GPB. I absolutely love that stuff! I gives moisture & protein at the same time--I love it!

Use what works for you, though. I have a bottle of Aphogee 2-minute, too, because I use it whenever my hair has been flat-ironed.

Fight the battle with fine hair, Honey Bee! You can do it. I've just learned that fine hair has to be handled gently.

For me,

-I always prepoo with protein
-I use protein throughout my routine (prepoo, leave-in, avocado oil & ceramides to prevent the loss of protein
-Low manipulation in regards to styling (twists during the week & twist-outs on the weekend)

Honey Bee its got coconut oil, but i think its the silk amino acids that really smooths and strengthens my hair. my hair doesn't feel rough but its definitely stronger and heavier feeling when i use it. it's also got biotin, panthenol, glycerin, and pearl powder. oh yeah its got mineral oil too, i know some people hate mineral oil in products but my hair doesn't mind it in this product.

Cosign on AO GPB. Works well on relaxed and natural hair. I use it on my relaxed hair and DD natural hair.

Nutress Protein Pack is better IMO

Hello,

I am a PJ too so I totally understand. Even if Aubrey's GPB Conditioner wasn't one of those "natural" conditioners, I'd still buy it. I love the way it makes my hair feel. I really like the ingredients of it. I buy it from www.vitaglo.com with a ton of other beauty products so that I don't have to pay full price for it. I use a deep conditioner or protein conditioner every time I shampoo, which is maybe 1-2x weekly so I don't have a need for hardcore protein treatments.

In fact, I am going to use it today so I can look fly for church tomorrow.

Aubrey Organics BGA
It's like a more natural alternative
I put it in never comb it after 3 mins
I rinse and comb through
