i finally caught the color bug. i was so scared to color my natural hair because last time i colored my hair (i was relaxed) my hair suffered and i didnt want a setback. i only lightened the front just incase i didnt like it or just incase it falls out atleast its not all over:look:...i wanted to wait until apl or bsl but thats so far away, and incase i have a setback i'd rather have it early on in my hair journey then way down the line... then wanted to do it next week for my nappiversary but i did it earlier just incase it was a total mess and i had to go back to black.

i wanted a red/black 2 tone look...i really wanted the fro patch like wiz khalifa, but my fro flops and doesnt stick up so i didnt think that was going to work

for the back i used garnier herbashine in soft black...my hair was already dark but i wanted a uniform color.

for the base, i probably should've used bleach to get the color that i want, but i was scared so for the base i used clairol textures and tones in bronze. according to the color chart i should've got a blondish bronze color, but i didnt. i even left it on for double the recommended time and used heat but it didnt really help.

i went over the bronze with manic panic in vampire red...i thought it would be bright, but its just a burgundyish color...it sure stained my scalp bright red though:look:

I think it looks cute!! After a shampoo your scalp should be okay - it's happened to me plenty of times, lol.

Thanks, how u get that shape? U did layers? Or did it just grew out like that, sorry but I'm so crazy about ur hair is not even funny, lol I think we have similar texture.

I love the color and I love your hair! This is my first time seeing pics of your hair and it looks really nice!

It's pretty and your curls...drool. They're so big and pretty. What prods do you use?

thanks! lately i've been using mixed silk leave-in or oyin hair dew & a spritz of aloe vera/water/condish, but in the pics i used a little aubrey organics honeysuckle rose at night and baggied so in the morning it was all absorbed and i spritzed with aussie hair insurance (leave-in spray) & put garnier fructis color shield leave-in (which to me is like a liquidy gel/serum) on top.

Wow your curls are PRETTY! You don't even need colour, letting them stand alone is enough! Never thought you'd actually dye your hair though, is this just a test since you only did the top?
