Some people's waist may be at the middle of their back. Your waist is the narrowest part of your torso which is usually between bottom of rib cage and hips. The mid-back line can be anywhere on a person's torso which is dependent on the length of your entire torso. So some people's hair may fall at their waistline and mid-back line. (Hope I didn't sound redundant :spinning: )

It doesn't seem that far fetched for me to believe that some people's MBL is the same as their WL (or at the very least really close). I think the length of your torso plays a big part in that and some folks waists really are high. You know comes to mind for me as somene who has a high waist..the oldest sister on the cosby show.

Yeah MBL is close to WL on me. I am 5 ft tall and I have a short torso, short every thing. BSL length on me is really MBL due to my shape too. That is why I use BSB as a reference. The bra strap from my waist right now is 2.0 inches. So, basically it is different from everybody. I think that is why people go by inches and not body parts or structure.

Ok b/c I started to think that MBL and WL were the same which I guess they can be

ETA:

I never really understood the difference I just think it should be BSL THEN WL but technically BSL could be MBL...

LOL so confusing!! its just hair in the end....long beautiful hair :yep:

SimplyBlessed, MBL is my BSL. WL is lower. I use BSB as a length as well, like another poster stated. So, like everyone else said, I think it just depends on the person.

maybe they are measuring from their natural waist and not the waist band of their pants

The waistband of most pants are not at the location of your natural waistline on your body... unless you wear high waisted pants that go above your belly button like this:

I know that. My post didn't state that they were the same. Maybe I need to re-word my response. Sometimes irl when people refer to their waist they are referring to the waist line of their pants. I thought the op maybe have been referring to the same area, that's why I mentioned that people are probably measuring from their natural waist.
