In hair purgatory
Does anyone have a style that they just get up and go? or they have minimal styling that doesnt include wetting the hair? please tell me what it is! i dont even have time to untwist a twist out or anything like that in the morning.

The Gumby. If I went to bed, woke up, and left the house, my hair would be a lop-sided, shrunken, helmet.

Seriously, the only way I can do that is when I have kinky twists. I absolutely cannot do that with my real hair.

Yes- Instead of the Wash n GO. The night before do a Wash n Shingle. I use Shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie and eco-styler. I apply a small amount of the Shea moisture and rake eco-styler throught with my fingers. You can also use the denman to distribute the product.

I diffuse my hair and put it in 2 high ponytails. In the morning just shake it out. If I have any smashed curls I the steam from the shower usually fixes that. Put a little oil on your fingers as you separate your hair. It should last a few days.

oh i forgot about flexi rod sets! my only issue is gettin dem roots. maybe i just need to stop being cheap and get more rollers:lol:

The good thing about flexis is, the roots don't matter. :look: But I do lay my edges down first with the scarf method (cuz I do the set on air-dried hair). You know what, I just wrote all this down, lemme go find it.

Ok, here it is, from the new texlaxed support thread:

About rollersetting, since my hair is soooo fine in some places, I find it best to do them on air-dried hair because, 1, it's less manipulation of wet hair, and 2, letting it puff up a little bit gives me some much needed volume. Section by section, I moisturize, seal, then roll. I use water in a spray bottle, some creamy LI (lacio lacio or PM the conditioner), and seal with either Chi SI or pure argan oil. The water is just to make the hair stick to the roller. I spray the bottom half of my hair very lightly, so it dries pretty fast (within an hour or so depending on humidity). The majority of the moisture for this set comes from the LI so I coat my strands well.

This set (using purple flexis) is my go-to winter PS and can easily last until the next wash day. To sleep, I 'pineapple' the curls on the top of my head, pin them up, and tie on my scarf. Occasionally, I'll put a little more serum or argan oil.

this! i cowash at night and apply products and put in 2 ponytails (i do one up one down) & baggy...take off the plastic cap in the morning, shake and go...or if you have a WnG thats frizzy or on its last leg, just pin it up into an updo or frohawk.

Honestly, a wig is the only get up and go style that I have found.

I have done braid styles (cornrows or crochet braids) but with my own loose hair there is no get up & go style.

Even a bun takes a bit of effort since I need to add some product and a scarf to smooth it down for a sleek look.

I used to "shingle" my hair with KCCC once per week and it was basically a get and go hair. I would wear a satin cap at night and in the morning i would go into the shower without a cap to refresh the style. I would shake my hair when I got out of the shower to It worked for me at a time when I was extremely busy.

Hardly ever do this but my get-up-and-go is a simple high bun if my hair is jacked, takes under 30 seconds. If I'm having a good hair day (usually) I just let my hair down and adjust, takes under a minute. I usually know when I'm going to have a good hair day or a bad one though.

Small twists worn for 3 weeks and the resulting twist out worn for the 4th week..and beyond, if I'm lazy. Are people really doing their hair every morning?

I did my first twists this week with half relaxed-half natural hair. I really was not a fan of twists. However, the breakage and such from transitioning made me resort to trying them. Let me tell you I am in love. I haven't touched my hair in two days and they still look fresh. I've decided that for the foreseeable future I'll be in twists. Don't know if I'll be able to stick to them for the next year until I cut the relaxed ends, but at this point -- my 12th month mark --they are great.
