I need a shot of protein...can I use an egg?

Well. I know I can, I jus cant remember exactly what the best way is. I did this waaaaaaaay back in the day in high school, but has anybody done this recently?

I need some protein and while I would love to go get some Aphogee 2 Min Reconstructor, I cant get on the road b/c of the ice.

Yes an egg will work but it tends to be a strong protein for most people. It can be messy if used alone so maybe you can mix it with one of your rinse out conditioners so its thicker, that what I do when I run out of my protein conditioners.

Good idea! Should I use it all or just the whites or just the yellow?

Add the whites and the yellow - both have protein. Also, if you have some plain yogurt you can mix it with that.

Last time I used in egg in my hair I mixed it with mayo so years ago hair was strong and the shine...hair bling!!!!

I was told that the egg particles or whatever are too large to penetrate the hair strand in some thread. But if it works really well, I may go at this half-dozen I have in my fridge since I barely ever eat eggs.

ETA: Ice? Where are you Sparkling? I hope it's not coming this way. :nono:

So, do you follow up with a moisturizing deep conditioner to balance it or is that counterproductive?

Also, do you take the egg mixture all the way down to your ends? I'm always afraid to get anything that's not straight moisturizing conditioner or coconut oil on my ends. lol

Beer Shampoo
Beer has been famed for generations for its ability to leave hair bouncy, shiny and full of body, so this beer shampoo recipe is loaded with it. The proteins from the malt and hops in the beer coat the hair and build it up and help repair damage. It leaves the hair with wonderful body.

3/4 cup beer (any cheap brand)
1 cup inexpensive shampoo
Boil the beer until it reduces to 1/4 cup. Cool the beer and add it to the 1 cup of inexpensive shampoo.

 beer?
Hmmm I thought beer was mostly carbs? They have proteins too? Had no idea. Well, if i had some beer in the house I would have tried this out. But I'm not a drinker :nono:
Anyway, the eggs sound like a good idea and so does mayo. I love how mayo makes my hair feel! Never thought about mixing the two together though. Will that be excess protein and in comparison to the aphogee protein treatment?

*sideeye at myself because I keep asking questions that nobody is answering :( *

But one more question: I have a relaxer burn, which is why I want to do the protein treatment--I'm afraid my hair got overprocessed--but, with the sores and all (sorry if that's TMI), do yall think that's dangerous? I've been sitting here all hyped to do this but now I'm sitting here thinking about sore head + raw, salmonell-y egg = possible infection. Would yall do it? Is that a dumb question?:look:

Hellooo?
