I need a shot of protein...can I use an egg?

It's about 4 inches of snow here in Mississippi!

I LOVE egg protein treatments. I do this all the time as a weekly pre-poo. Just add about 1 tblsp of cholesterol, 1 tsp of honey, 1 tsp of EVOO, and a lil bit of castor oil and it leaves my hair soft and strong! I usually leave on for about 45 min with no heat 'cause I don't want my hair to be super hard with cooked egg particles in it. :/ But now I leave on for longer than 45 minutes--no more than 2 hours at least.

ETA: Someone wanted to know if you could use on wet or dry hair. Either, but usually use on dry hair.

i'm from Mississippi. my mom called me yesterday and was like, Meka, it's snowing!!! there's snow everywhere! i was like dang. :(

Here is egg recipe with less protein, more moisture. Increase the amount of honey and olive oil if your hair is past shoulder length. I apply to damp hair. HTH

2 spoons of honey
2 spoons of olive oil
2 eggs

Do you have aloe vera juice/gel to apply to the burns? Be careful handling your hair until the scab heals and falls off. Tea with lots of milk is also good, you soak a washcloth in the milky tea and apply to burned areas. Antioxidants in the tea and the milk is soothing.

thank you! :)

*sideeye at myself because I keep asking questions that nobody is answering :( *

But one more question: I have a relaxer burn, which is why I want to do the protein treatment--I'm afraid my hair got overprocessed--but, with the sores and all (sorry if that's TMI), do yall think that's dangerous? I've been sitting here all hyped to do this but now I'm sitting here thinking about sore head + raw, salmonell-y egg = possible infection. Would yall do it? Is that a dumb question?:look:

Hellooo?
@Goldenprincess, for burns I used to put Bacitracin ointment on them or any first aid ointment that helps with burns.

I did an egg protein treatment two weeks ago because I realized I had run out of aogpb and I didn't want to do a hardcore aphogee 2-step.

I mixed it with some cheapie condish and I used heat (no cooked egg on my head) for 30 min. Then I followed up with a moisturizing condish. My hair felt really good.

I'm wearing twists right after being braided up under my wig for months and I'm contemplating doing thiend's egg wash.

hi I just used eggs. I looked on this site before putting the eggs in and I just washed them out.

I just want to say my hair feels super strong! like I could lift a chair with it! I used LusterSilk and 1 egg mix.

To give an update. I washed my hair first and then I mixed the eggs with the organixs coconut conditioner. I wrapped my hair in a heated towel for about 30min. After I rinsed out the eggs my hair felt very hard, so I knew it worked. Which made me pretty happy. And then I used a moisturizing conditioner(keracare's humecto) for about 1 hour with a heated towel to kind of counter act the protein. I rinsed with the roux porosity control for about 1 min to correct my ph. Usually I can depend on the Joico reconstructor to do this since the ph is so high. I used the giovanni leave in conditioner with shea butter and did a braid out. People loved the braid out. Right now my hair feels pretty soft, so I'm satisfied.
