anyone else thinks that? Each time I look at photos of natural brides or bride maids, I can't help but notice the "specialness" naturals bring to these photos. It's like a kind of old school charm or maybe it's a natural hair charm. I am having a hard time articulating what I am talking about, but has anyone else noticed?
Though I am not natural I really love what natural hair does to the overall look of the photos

That depends on the style of the wedding. My wedding was vet traditional and formal so my current natural look IMO- would not have fit. But I have seen brides whose wedding themes begged for a natural - kinky hair do.

I feel like brides who wear there natural hair do show more personality and uniqueness. I think it is because most people do not wear their hair in its natural state for their wedding. They are either relaxed or they press their real hair out or wear weaves. Personally, I am going to wear my natural hair for my wedding (even though I'm no where even engaged ). I just feel like I would want to present myself as 100% who I am to the man who I am going to be with for the rest of my life. Even though, yes, I am going to wear make-up for my wedding :look: even that I want to be minimum. I rather work on clearing up my face than caking on pounds of foundation.

ETA: I do not have anything against brides wearing their hair straight or wearing loads of make up. Everybody should have a wedding day like they envision.

I'm getting married in September and currently transitioning. I would LOVE to be able to wear my natural hair at my wedding, but I don't feel that my length will be where I want it to be by then for the style I want. That's the only thing that keeps me from being a natural bride.

I think I know what you're talking about. Every time I see a natural wedding I feel as if I'm looking at it through those lenses that make everything soft focused, with a wonderful almost dream like quality to it.

I agree! It looks more elegant, unique, and more youthful, IMO.

I wore my hair natural for my wedding and had so many compliments. I definitely stood out from the crowd, and not just because I was wearing white. A simple puff (slightly rollersetted with bouncy, frizzy curls) with a white satin tie and a veil hanging behind. It somehow matched our outdoor wedding perfectly too.

I don't understand why so many natural women think something formal or special means straight hair or flowing weave all of a sudden. I wanted to be as beautiful as I could be while being me. I'm especially happy that my future daughters will be able to see how I wore my hair.

I know what you mean. It's like a throwback to old wedding pics and family members before relaxers and weaves.

It makes you feel comfy just looking at them.

Me either.:ohwell:

I was in a wedding recently and the bride asked me to straighten my hair. I love my friend so I honored her request. However, when I looked at the pictures...I didn't see myself. I saw someone else. I realized then that I will be me on my wedding day...big natural curly hair and all!

I completely agree:) so I tried to find some pic but I could not find many...

MY husband and I will have been married for 5 yrs next month. We've never had a wedding. We would have had one this year for our 5 yr anniverssary but we just had a baby 2 weeks ago lol So I've pushed it back to 10 yrs. By then my hair should be AMAZING. I can't wait to wear my natural hair.

I especially love wedding photos of women wearing thir natural hair on the beach. It just look perfect.

Exactly!!! To this day I don't get that ; naturals have so many options.

I wish I would have been able to wear my hair natural but it was way too short.

I remember having the same concerns when I was planning my wedding. I had actually cut my hair really short only to get engaged a few months later! Instead of caving in to my family's pressure to straighten, I just twisted my hair in tiny twists and wore a tiara. I think it turned out well.
