So excited! :bouncegre Just flat ironed my hair for the holidays and its longer than I expected. I measured around APL back in June (just touching it) and am now 1 1/2 inches from BSL!!! I'd also trimmed my hair a bit in June. I prolly should have been better measuring my hair all this time, but I rarely ever think to measure it systematically. I guess not paying attention and sticking to my regimen has paid off.

Flat ironing usually didn't work well for me because I have fine, porous hair that frizzed easily, but these are the best results I've had yet. I washed and deep conditioned my hair very well, added Kimmay's leave-in, and then let air-dry by rollersetting overnight (following WestNDNbeauty's advice about deep moisture and flat ironing). I then applied CHI Silk Infusion (which is a godsend!) and used a cheap-o Revlon 1-inch flat iron I'd had for years but barely used. I got a technique down that finally works!

that look really good hon, well done you!!!

i totally understand what you mean about porous hair, my hair is super porous, hopefully i can get these results one day when my hair is this long!!?!?

well done!! xx

Thanks for the support ladies! After two weeks my hair is still pretty straight but I'm dying to wash. I'll try to make it 4 weeks though. How do you guys maintain flat ironed hair and for how long?

Thanks so much for the links! I've been trying to figure out how to moisturize my hair while straight. I've made the flat iron last a while so far but my hair is starting to feel dry and I'd like to go as long as possible (3-4 weeks).

I used a tad of Kimmaytube leave-in and sealed with EVCO then rollerset and my hair didn't revert. Nice!
