Want to grow hair, get your internal heat up

This is probabaly why white and asian people's hair generally grow faster than african americans. They can get one inch per month easier. White people are generally always hot/warm they break out in shorts and flip flops as soon as there is a 60 degree day and we generally are more cold.

Is this why bunning works as well because buns allow the head to retain more warmth than wearing your hair down and loose?

Wait. I break out in flip flops and shorts as soon as the temp hits 60 degrees. Does this means I am warm natured?

I think My hair grows at an average rate. Some says it grows fast, but i still think it is pretty average

This is interesting. I'm naturally a hot person. It's 10 degrees here and I have the window open because I'm burning up. But I do notice that when I get sick I am very cold. And I have noticed that since I smoked a cigarette when I was 18 that after that my bronchitis started acting up and I got severely sick. But since I got sick when I was 18, my immune system isn't as strong as it used to be. and I can tell. And I'm not as hot as I used to be. it used to be a family joke, but now I'm just different and I can tell. So this thread is pretty interesting to me.

I also think this could be true- I get so much growth during the summer which is when i stay hot!

This is good info, but I don't think it's true for everyone. I've been chronically anemic, am cold ALL the time (right now I am freezing and my dad isn't cold at all), I turn up my heat to 74 degrees often (if it's on 70 I'm still freezing), turn on my heater when it's 60 degrees outside, and have a natural body temperature way below normal (either 95-96 as opposed to the regular 98.6). My hair grows a bit faster than the average rate.

This makes sense for me but I'll definitely investigate it further. Ellepixie: 74 degrees? HA! How about I keep my heat on 80 and sometimes 85. It's on 80 right now and I'm wearing a sweatshirt over my pajamas and I have on those boot-like houseshoes. I decided to start baggying with a winter hat over the bag to keep the heat trapped in my head. I comfortably wear hoodies in the summer and I'm always drinking hot water/tea

Ok I just wanted to rant about my cold body lol I don't know if it has anything to do with my hair growth. I'm not a slow grower but who knows if I'm reaching my potential. I'll try to do better with not walking barefoot and baggying everyday to see if my growth increases.

LOL!! I'm not trying to have my dad yell at me for making his bill high!!! My mom keeps her heat on 68 and I feel like dying every time I visit her...smh

Very interesting, I am a cold natured person. My hands and feet are always cold. I have heard alot about increased blood circulation being the key to hair growth. I know that drinking cold drinks is bad for digestion but I have never purposely implemented drinking warm beverages only. I have started working out and I will definately start drinking warm water with because it is also a great immune booster. Good info, Thanks.

Yup I left my parents house early this year ( I usually stay all of Christmas break) because I'm always freezing there Smh they keep the heat on 76 but i swear it feels like 46!! Luckily I don't pay for heat at my apartment. Idk what I'll do when I get my own house :-(

This is very interesting info (will research for more info)...I am always cold unless it's 80 degrees. So I better increase my exercise game and stick with the stir fried veggies!

Interesting theory ... but I'm hot natured with slow growing hair. My sister who had the longest hair in the fam during childhood is actually one of those cold natured types.

Very interesting. I'm almost always cold, and my hands usually feel like they've been in the freezer. I've been told I'm borderline anemic, but nothing to worry about. I drink mostly hot drinks and room temp water in the fall/winter, but I may try some of the suggestions you mentioned to see if it makes a difference. I'm somewhat of a slow grower too, so I'll see if anything changes.

Agreed! I am off and on anemic- I am definitely cold-natured...but I think that I have normal to maybe above average growth...Maybe I'm the exception to the rule?

OMG! To whomever bumped this, THANK YOU. I really needed to read this. It hit home for me. I feel like I need to testify. I'm anemic and I'm always cold. My hands literally feels like ice. My feet are always cold, in the winter I wear layers of clothes and still feel cold. In the summer long sleeves, light jackets and jeans feel best to me...It's so weird cuz, I use to have a bunch of roommates (two whites and one asian) and they would always be hot if the temp was above 50 degrees, like sitting there sweating, and I'll have on a sweat shirt and sweat pants and shivering. They washed their hand like everyday even in the winter and went outside with wet hair often. I would've died. This explained so much! When I lived in SC my hair was the longest its ever been and when I moved back north, I could feel the difference...def gonna look into this more

Hey i was thinking... (idk if it has been said before) BUT aside from it being from anemia

could it be from a slow metabolism too?? meaning that if your whole metabolism is slower then average, you got "less" chemical reactions going on(so your body is producing less heat) and a slow metabolism can also mean that it takes more time to grow(or produce lol) hair

I was also thinking along those same lines especially with the point about working out. My hair grows its best when I workout.

Thanks for sharing. This definitely seems to have some truth to it. I know my hair grows in much faster when the weather is warm.
