Ladies Help!!!

My hair is falling out by the touch. I dont know what is going on. I believe I tried this new product and after that my hair is just falling. I mean literally falling. not breaking but by the bulb. just coming out. I need help ASAP. What do you ladies suggest. I do not remember what what in the product but it was all natural and I believe that I put too much of it in everything. like my shampoo, conditioner. I think that did. I need to save my hair. I am an inch past brastrap. :nono:

I would do a strong tea or coffee rinse. You can also take garlic supplements to help with the shedding. You may want to see a doctor if the shedding continues. I would throw out any products containing the ingredient you believe caused the reaction. I would also rewash my hair with an uncontaminated shampoo/conditioner. Your hair will recover, so don't let this get you down. HTH.

You don't remember the name of the product or what type of product it was? Was it a shampoo? A conditioner?

I need more information.

Does this product have a name? Sometimes you help others help you when you're open about the details of products you use and in other case, the regimen you've been using. What reason made you start using the product? If it was a growth aid, perhaps it just made you rush through the growth stage of your hair cycle so you reached the resting and hence shedding stage faster than you're used to... and then because there were already hairs already there (from your previous rate), you just saw exodus of your strands. Is your hair thinning?

Suggestions:

  • Like ebonyseas said, throw away all the products tainted this "natural product";

    [*]Go back to your old tried and true products. Remember it may not be that the products were bad and hence the reason you might not have been seeing the results you were hoping for. It could be that your haircare methods were what needed tweaking. So don't dismiss your old products before you try out different ways of using them or just different ways of handling your hair while still using them;

    [*]If your scalp feels weird (itchy, tingly, sore) or if your hair is thinning, go see a dermatologist. Actually, go get a physical exam regardless to eliminate a thyroid disorder, anemia, an autoimmune condition, or any other ailment that could cause hair loss;

    [*]Do you know it's normal to lose 100 hairs a day? Perhaps you aren't losing more than normal. When someone starts to pay attention to something, things look bigger/brighter than before just because before that person was oblivious to them. Like when you learn a new word, it seems as if suddenly everyone is using it. It's not that it just became popular but rather you now recognize it. So I suggest you count your hairs. Remember if you haven't been manipulating your hair, then more hair will come out to make up for the day not enough came out;

    [*]Try to relax as stress can cause hair loss. Have someone give you a scalp massage to help you relax. Not only will it help you relax but it is good for your circulation. But also make sure you're eating well. Eating junk deprives your body of good nutrition, and if your body is not getting all the nourishment it needs, then you can bet your hair will never see any. Nails and hair are usually the last to get the "pie" so avoid feeding your body empty calories
    .

That's all I could think of now. If you can share a photo of what you collect from shedding it can help us reassure you that it's not as bad as you think or confirm if you're really shedding abnormally. Also if your hair is longer, the ball you shed will look bigger than normal

@nonie they were samples from a company and they were monoi oil, kinetin, nibi, manuka honey extract and dermatein power powder IV lustrepower. So even though they are all natural and come from raw materials. I think too much is a not a good thing. I may a put them together and they do not mix. I will not use again.

^^Girl, just because something is "natural" doesn't make it good. Sugar is natural and it doesn't agree with me. So are tomatoes. And if something is new to you, that's when you're supposed to tread carefully. Did you get that recipe from someone or know someone who has mixed that? If not, you are braver than a crazy person, coz no way would I be taking chances with my body. *clutches m' pearls" Even if you know someone who does that, doesn't mean it will work for you, so why throw all your eggs in one basket?

I know you know not to mix these items again (Why kinetin for hair? I thought it was mainly used as an anti-aging product for skin) but I'm asking you to not do it with anything else you come across. As long as I've been on LHCF, I have never been tempted to try out all the "magic potions" that get posted. Please leave it to the pros or at least learn from one who's got experience of using the products how to use them until you yourself get some experience to be able to do your own thing. I feel like I just read a letter from a sis who's about to try out all the narcotics out there to see what they do. I need to lie down. :ill:

I tend to mix a lot too, but I've been good about doing strand/ skin tests. The next time you use a new product test it out on a small patch of your scalp and wait a few days to see if there's a reaction. If you're mixing batches, test every batch before using. I find that searching this site also helps. I'm wary of products that people have complained about in the past. Hopefully your experience will help others.

Whenever I DC with Motions Oil Moisturizer Silk Protein Conditioner, I get almost zero shed, like 2 hairs in the comb. I haven't had an acute case of shedding like you're experiencing, but I think the Motions Silk Protein is worth a shot. It's moisturizing plus light protein for strength. Sorry you are going through this and hope this helps or that you are able to find a quick solution!
