cliff notes edition:

OP is has been natural her whole 21 years of life. A couple of years ago she got a texturizer. she has always had growing hair but it would break off or she would cut it. her 1/2 indian stepmother used to take care of her 4c hair, and OP wished it could be softer and longer like hers. she went to africa when she was 10, and came back bald. later in life, she met a guy and started to show interest in her hair, and cut and dyed it for him, but he didnt like it, and the stress from their relationship really had a negative impact on her hair. one day she went to a stylist who ripped through her hair with a comb and complained about her hair and said she should relax it, and she ended up leaving the shop with burnt up hair and scalp. 3 weeks later her hair started breaking off where she was burned, and she decided to do some research and start a HHJ. as a relaxed natural, she is completely and totally relaxed about her hair being natural and everyone else’s being whatever they please.
:look:

Erm, wow. Don't take this the wrong way, as I appreciate you going into the effort of summarising all that. But, em, I still got a little confused at some places :perplexed :ohwell:

OP, welcome to LHCF :hiya:

Don't mind the funny posts too much. A lot of LHCF members tend to be funny like that, as well as having a short attention span :look:

That's nice to hear that you're a writer, as I'm a bit of a writer too

OK, I'll be honest, I having taken the time to read your whole post yet, but I will do :yep:. But, much good luck in your hair journey :D

I am SOOOO glad I didn't waste five mins of my life reading the OP!:look: Happy growing !

Hmmm...well, the only reason that I said I was natural the whole time is cuz the texturizer didn't take...guess I did it wrong, or something...And second is because I am one of the naturals who doesn't consider a texturizer un-natural. But, to each his own. But anyway...to those who read the whole thing: Thank you, lol. As I said, I am long-winded and write a lot,-as some will soon see-so sorry, but again, that was just my intro and hair history, I don't plan to do that all the time, it was just my intro, but I honestly didn't know how long it was until I posted it, and as for the mistakes...? Any confusion feel free to ask, and I'll explain. But, I'll keep it short, promise. Lol.

Same.
It was long, okay.
She was a little mistaken in some areas, okay.
There were no pictures, okay.
But she's new...this isn't an Adora-type situation where she had been lurking for two years and then came up in here acting a fool. If she'd only been lurking for two weeks, then she doesn't know how it works around here.
You can tell her nicely to not write a life story with no pictures...no need to be extra.

And people wonder why no one wants to come to LHCF no more.

My thoughts, exactly...:ohwell::perplexed.

To all the welcomers: Thank you again! And to all those who thought it was a joke: I get it, no problem...U'll get used to me sooner or later tho...lol.

my bad, op...i thought you were pulling our legs, in light of the recent threads...welcome, and good luck on your hair journey.

I totally get what you're saying about the texturizer not taking....the first time I got a relaxer, it did not "take" at all - meaning their was no noticeable change to my texture (didn't know anything about a curl pattern back then), BUT it's important to remember that once you put a relaxer/texturizer in your hair, your hair is chemically processed. If you don't treat it as such, you may experience increased breakage and very poor retention.

Honestly, I didn't read through your whole "intro" post, but the chemical processing may have contributed to your hair-care woes....if you put the texturizer in your hair, but continued to treat it as if it was natural, you were bound to experience breakage.

"HOLY Rambling Batman!!!"
:superman:

I read just about all of that.Wasn't sure I'd finish before Christmas.

I too, liked your "relaxed natural" explanation although I know it will trigger a raised eyebrow for anyone who didn't read the meaning.

WELCOME to lhcf & Happy Hair Growing.

Ummm, before I go back and read all that, is this thread for real?

After the latest happening around here I cant tell whats real and whats not:perplexed

Welcome Jayla:newbie:

Sorry to hear of your struggles with your hair and the breakup with the fiance, but everything will work itself out.

I see you are still working on your regi, so hopefully you come up with something that works for you. We are all here to assist in any way so feel free to ask questions. HHG

P.S Don't mind our silly mood in this thread, I guess we are all still wired up from all this recent hysteria in the forum. Nothing personal:bighug:.Post pics when you feel comfortable

I guess it was a case of the the wrong thread at the wrong time..LOL Her OP coincided with the epicness that was "the thread" [R.I.P]
..so it was kind of perplexual.. [it's in MY dictionary] That's all. No harm no foul. Welcome again Jayla. Hope you enjoy your stay. =]

Wow...It never ceases to amaze me how rude some people are...*sigh*. Ah well, luckily...never mind...Thank you to all the "Sisters"! :bouncy:
