Do you suspect a friend or someone you know knew about LHCF and never told you?

Or new about any other hair care forum and never told you?

I swear my homegirl new and never shared the goods.
I remember meeting up with her after not seeing her in a year or so and her hair was beautiful! When I asked her what she did, she simply answered 'I started taking care of it.' I never followed-up on the question but clearly 5 years I still wonder. Maybe she would have shared the info with me or maybe not who knows...

What about you, do you 'suspect' anyone?
If I suspect you, I'll generally test you by using key words like 'big chop' or MBL or co-wash. If you don't respond with a 'what's that?' GOTCHA! LOL

nah...none of my friends had long enough or healthy enough hair for me to suspect that...but when i tell my friends about the hair boards they call me obsessed lol so maybe she was on the boards and just didnt mention it because she didnt know how you would react.

I had a friend mention coconut oil and her new growth and inside I was like "girl I know you found a board!" but I didn't say anything

No, most of the people that I know with long hair always had long hair. Their hair was long before the popularity of hair boards and the internet.

Not one... i honestly dont think any of them knew before i told them but then again none of the women in my family arent really die hard hair care freaks like i am.

Hey Naija-sis! LOL at your comment....I have one friend in particular who says the same about me, but yet she's steadily asking me about CW recipes or to recommend oils lol.

Let me get out of this thread before my phone starts ringing all of a sudden lol....:lachen:

Nope, the one person I know with long, seemingly healthy hair is my MBL cousin and she has less than savory hair practices.

I'm that friend for alot of people.I'm so laid back IRL so many of my associates would find my hair obsession absolutely hilarious. :sad:

I would just die of shame if people knew I bought a camera just to track my progress, pay 6.50 to talk about hair, stalk fotkis and YT for hair porn, etc. My mother found my progress T and I :blush::blush: I don't let nobody go through my camera and pics. I minimize y'all whenever someone walks up:look:

I suspected, and then found out that my best friend was on here by accident! Hey Edwu19! :wave: :) But she's the only one, I don't know anyone else who is into caring for his/her own hair that much...

I wouldn't be surprised. now that I think of it though, I like learning things about hair care but I generally don't talk about hair in person. It just doesn't come up often; so I'm probably the "suspect" not the one suspecting others :lol:

I don't see anything wrong with caring about the health of my hair though--so if someone approached me and asked, I would gladly tell them my username and everything. Heck I have a link to my website in my siggie :yep:

I do. Before coming on the hair boards everyone I saw had jacked up hurr. Anyone who had long hair or even just healthy hair, well, it seemed like they just "lucked out." Now maybe it's because I'm more educated myself, but as I look around, I can pinpoint sisters who *obviously* know the tricks of the trade . . . and use terms like "length check," "big chop," "co-wash" and other "insider" terms that make me certain that they're on one of the hair boards, even if not this one :sekret:

Nope all my friends/family memebers have SL to scalp length hair.

:lachen::lachen::lachen:

:lachen::lachen::lachen:

:lachen: @ "lucked out" I'm beginning to see more of my facebook friends talking about "hair journeys" and "transitioning" so I guess you're right. That's probably a good way of fishing out Nikos cousins and step kids :lol:

Of course! My young cousin speaks about stretching relaxers and braidouts. Everytime I ask her if she's a member of a hair forum, she somehow avoids the question. I am the person in the family that always share good information b/c I love to see my family prosper in all things. I even shared this forum with all of the women in my family but no one has responded saying, "Thank you" or "I've been lurking" or anything of the sort.

Darling, I'm not going to call your name out but I know you're here...!!!

I wouldn't necessarily say that they knew about LHCF specifically, but maybe they frequent some website on hair care. One thing that astounds me though is that there are some women who just know what to do with their hair to always have it looking fly without even hitting up haircare forums at all. Their weaves always look fly or their hair is always healthy. This one girl I knew did a long term transition from relaxed to natural in two years and she did it effortlessly WITHOUT consulting any hair forums. Some people just KNOW what works for them and I feel like even with the aid of LHCF, I still get it wrong a lot.

:lol::lol::lol: I like that cousin.

Yes! I have a friend that knew about the hair boards back in 2000. And she kept it to herself! I wish she would have told me....

She always had long hair but had a setback which I believe led her to the hair boards. I recently found out her secret by the hair code terminology in our conversations.

One day I asked if she was a member of any hair boards...she looked like a deer in headlights....:lachen:and said she visits from time to time...lol.

I saw another cousin with a braidout...!!! I was like, look at this ****; ain't mentioned nothing to me about this forum. Both of my cousins have relaxed and healthy hair.

Naw most of my friends dont seem interested in hair that much and the ones that are I send here.

They weren't really my friends, but I went to college with them and one went from SL-MBL and the other went from between APL/BSL to WL....if only I had known too :ohwell:

heck yeah!
im the the phone with that ***** right now!
Hair all long and swangin...thick wsl.
PLUS she cowashes.

:lachen::lachen: shaaaaaaaady LOL

:lachen: Can they do scalp-outs with that?

LOL! I got my browser WWWWIIIIDE open. I'm so bad that if I found out I get fired cuz I was on LHCF AAALLLLLLL the time, I'd pack my little cardboard box and keep my head high walking out, swangin' all the way down the hallways.

Yes, it can be any site, not just LHCF for sure...
I transitioned well too though...if you don't mind a lil' heat damage here and ....all over lol.

Imagine where you could have been had you known! My twenties would have been the BOMB!

i think it's da henny lololol....this got me crackin up.

i found out over the Thanksgiving Holiday that my cousins STALK this board. OMG....We were sitting around the table talking hair, and when she said "co-wash", and mentioned kinky kurly, and other products, I was like...where u get that lingo from...

and, while we were at the table, she had her laptop open to LHCH. They don't know my screen name, but since we're related, they would prolly figure out that TJG is their cousin lololol...just from the post alone. lololol...

Yep! Way back in 05-06 she told her her hair secret was wild growth oil! She also bunned 24/7 and only did roller sets. She's an Internet junkie like me ( I met her at a another boards gtg, lol). If you are still here hi Aimee!!!!

I NEVER told my friends (except one) about this board. They all found out about Hairliscious now though.

Thats works for me. Find out on your own. Because when I tell you for some reason you won't believe me...

I suspect that my coworker/friend is a member here or at least lurks here. Too many signs to indicate otherwise:lol:!

She is trying to grow out her hair and has been taking really good care of it. She deep conditions weekly and does oil treatments regularly. One time she was telling me about a getting a wig so that she can deep condition under it; that's when I asked if she heard of LHCF. She paused and denied. Then there was another incident when she was showing me pics on her phone and there was a picture of her hair; it showed the back of her head showing the length her hair..lol! The same type of hair pics that we post here. I asked her again if she heard of LHCF and she said no...lol! Who knows..lol! I suspect that she may be a member of BHM or looks at hair blogs if she really doesn't know about LHCF.

ETA: she is also the only other person that I can talk to about hair all day with..lol! She really knows her stuff. She has been open to learning and trying new things.

:lol: My coworker/friend(discussed in prev post) has also asked me for advice on what oils to purchase so that she could do hot oil treatment before shampooing.
