Miss Jessie's Original

The cheapest shipping option was over $12. That eats the majority of the savings. I was going to try this even though I know it is over priced mineral oil but the shipping prices are crazy.

How many items was this? $12 for 2 items (B1G1). I'm placing my order next week some time. I've played around with adding to a cart but haven't checked out the shipping, yet.

Is this online only? Because Target sells this stuff and I would go in to avoid the shipping costs.
At the bottom of the ad it says Target stores are excluded.

Isn't there a list somewhere of their retail locations that DO participate in the BOGO? I refuse to pay all that money for shipping. I really like the baby buttercreme and curly pudding, and I would get them if I can find them offline.

YOu will either pay shipping or taxes. You have to make the call.

I went to 3 locations in the Baltimore area and they did not honor the BOGO. I made a post on Miss Jessie's FB page and the called the retailer and the are now honoring the promotion.

go to Miss Jessie's Original and look under location and you should see all the vendors that are supposed to participate in the promotion.

I've never tried Miss Jessie's. For those of you who LIKE her products which ones will you be buying?

MJ products have been my curly hair staples since 2005.

I prefer their old formulations...but have made peace with the new formula. I will be getting Curly pudding and Curly Meringue. Since they changed the ingredients....the Curly Pudding works better for me now. I want to play around with the "new to me" Curly Meringue (I stocked piled the old forumulas but recently ran out) to see how it works in my hair.

I racked up...I really want to try...I got quick curls to play with for W&G (my hair is thin so this will probably work for me esp when I diffuse) - curly meringue to play with for twist outs and braid outs - curly pudding (I only got the sample size though - wanted see what it did for me and my daughter's hair)

If I like i'm stocking up before the BOGO ends!!

I am in the DMV too and I had a location NOT honoring the BOGO. I explained to them that they stated on the website that ALL retailers should honor this sale. The BSS was however offering 20% off storewide. I chose not to purchase and went to another BSS that I KNEW was honoring the sale.

I went into the store today and they had a sign with BOGO. They said "oh yeaaaah that was you who called, we called the company to verify". So, I got the BOGO AND 20% off. I ended up paying $31.00 for 2 16 oz containers of Stretch Silkening Creme AND $38.00 for 2 Curly Puddings (from the other BSS in Alexandria).

Wooooot I LOVE THIS SALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I refused to order online and pay the MINIMUM $12.+ shipping. Ridiculous!

Wait bss have to honor the bogo??? Well I guess this the perfect time to test this stuff out. If I like it I'll make sure to stock up until the next bogo lol.

I bought the sample pack first to try all the products; the only two which my hair liked were the CURLY BUTTERCREAM and the SUPER SWEETBACK CONDITIONER so I BOGOed those. Miss Jessie's failed me because of the expectation of hair curly like the MJ's models but it only enhances what you already have...I found that out after expecting my hair to be the same as the models from MJ's...NOT!! I really like the look and feel of my twists when using the Curly Buttercream. The Super Sweet helps with tangles and feels great on my scalp. The petroleum in the products is a minus which makes me stick to my WEN shampoo every three to four days.

Uncle Funky's Daughter in Houston usually honors it - they did in years past. I called them yesterday. The store owner was very nice. She said, "Miss Jessie's didn't offer it to us this year." I would assume that means that Miss Jessie's has to cut some kind of deal with them in order for them to basically offer a 50% discount (the BOGO). If not, it doesn't make sense for retailers to do it.

I didn't bother to check the other retailer in Houston that carries Miss Jessie's besides Target. I'm just going to go ahead and order online. My sister and I are putting our orders in together, and compared to what I'm about to save, the shipping is nothing....it would be nice if it was free, though!

The BSS store that I went to sales Miss Jessie's and my ASSUMPTION was that the only exclusion to the sale was at Target stores. My thinking was that retailers that sale the product should offer the sale. If they did GREAT, if they didn't then I purchase from one that did.

Ok, I'm about to swing on somebody up in here. The bogo free deal notwithstanding, the cost of the buttercream is $58???!! WTH?! $58??!! Somebody could've warned me. I can only imagine how crazy I was looking when I saw that price. I don't know if I've EVER rolled my eyes that hard. :lachen::lachen: And the small jar was $32??! GOT ta be mo careful! I couldn't even stand there and look through the rest of the products. Had ta go!

Whew! Had to get that off ma chest. Warn a sista.

Shipping is a beast my shipping was about $21 and I live in. Jersey. :nono:

Wow, really? I live in Texas and my shipping was $10.

I purchased $86 worth of products for my sister and I. Even when I had $150 worth of products in my cart (just playing around), my UPS ground shipping was only $13 and some change.

I live in Jersey too. I wish I could find a retailer to honor the BOGO. I would pick it up in store.
There are quite a few stores here in NJ that offer the BOGO. The only reason I know is because I'm here visiting and figured I might as well get it here since the locations in VA and NC aren't in my part of the state.

Miss Jessie's Original

I silly don't see where it says whose honoring it. All I see is locations. How are you ladies figuring or whose doing the bogo.

The ups ground was 20.52 for shipping, I don't know if this make difference but I got the creams, and the stylers in 16 oz. :perplexed:

I know how you feel. I was pibbs hunting for a friend at the goodwill and there on the counter as I was talking to the clerk was a large unopened of curly pudding for $4.99. I grabbed it with a quickness. I refuse to pay $58 dollars for that mess at any store.

It looks like they changed their banner actually. The banner for the sale that is. Before it stated something like "At retail locations" or somthing or other. Girl don't you dare quote me :lachen:All I know is I GOT MINE. :lachen::lachen:

Oh, okay, it probably does make a difference. Well, hey, considering their prices, you still saved a lot!
