Peanut butter ON my hair? Not for me.

Peanut butter, jam and dorito sandwiches? EVERY DAY!

Precious girl you are a trip, I can't believe you thought to put Peanut Butter on yo hair!?!? :lachen: BUT I can't wait till some of these hypocritical bandwagoners jump on after they see some results. :lachen:
Girl I'm gon have to try this when I take these braids down, also I'm telling Nneka about yo lil experiments and she is laughing so hard.lol
Keep it up with the creativity!

I like eating (natural) PB...it took me forever, too. Happy to see so many people here who like eating it with apples because most of the time I get "eew gross" when I mention it offline! Though I am not willing to experiment with it for external treatments, I would eat lots of it for whatever health benefits it gave me. Yummmm. I think I will eat some now...

I was the first to say:nono: to this. I don't care if her hair grows to the floor, I'm not putting that sticky gooey stuff in MY hair.

Ive always had a pretty good length of hair so I guess i'm just not that desperate.

:lachen: sure you won't sweetie which is why I said SOME people will change their minds.
But I don't think it has anything to do with desperation to grow your hair. I've had APL hair before (I know not long by this boards standards but an "aight" length) and I would still be willing to try something new. Many of the products which we now think are normal were weird to someone at one time. (i.e. bananas, avocado, olive oil, CRISCO, jeri-curl juice AFTER the 80's,herbs for scalp stimulation, coffee rinses, shea-butter, NOT shampooing your hair often, yeast infection cream on your scalp, megatek, a product for horses...) you get the gist I could go on and on with examples. I think OP is just experimenting and trying different things for her hair, which I would hardly call "desperate" .

WOW that makes the OP desperate now?

If it weren't for trying new things out, we wouldn't have some of the products that we do today!

it's all about learning and experimenting. THE OP may have something new on her hands.

IF you don't want to do it, then that's fine but calling her desperate is just ridiculous and judgmental.

salt in conditioner
Tea rinses
coffee rinses
Bronze Bombshells (sp) challenge with eggs
Monistat
members making their own growth mixes
Boundless Tresses
and so on and so forth....

and if anyone has ever tried any of these methods, I guess you're just as desperate as the OP is.

Geez, why did this thread turn so negative? Some cranky folks posting today.

I don't think peanut butter is the craziest thing ever suggested, I can definitely understand the folks who are worried about putting something sticky in their hair. Some hair is more fragile than others and even honey (for me) can cause my hair to break a little.

For now I won't be applying it but I'll definitely check in to see how it works for the OP. Personally I think peanut oil might be a little less hassle but hey...one never knows.

None the less I think everyone should just calm down, lol. It's not that serious. No one's desperate. It's peanut butter. George Washington Carver would be proud.

Peanut Butter Cookies- GFCF

1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup solid sweetener
1/4 cup coconut flour, optional
2 eggs, beaten

Combine all ingredients and drop by tablespoons onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.

:sunshine:

The cheap peanut butter is mostly hydrogenated oils. Not really suitable for eating, but I have no idea what effect it would have on hair. Probably not much, since the oils are partially hydrogenated.

I've seen crazier things on hair, but really, y'all will make anything into a challenge. Can't wait to see who actually remembered it's here.

I have used peanut oil on a friend's hair to detangle braids, put conditioner on top and washed it out. The oil is easy to use if you need protein. I ate my pb ...

@cadi how did it affect your bust? Did the girls get bigger? If so how much did they increase as far as bra size goes?

You mean people had to see this thread to eat peanut butter?? I can't think of a time in my life when there wasn't peanut butter in the house. It is not a hair growth aide unless you have malnutrition but it can be a health aide as part of a normal balanced diet. Healthy body = healthy hair but does not = miracle growth. I wouldn't put it in my hair - pnuts have a strong smell and hair holds smells. If you wouldn't walk around with peanut butter breath you prolly don't want pnut butter hair and the world is full of things that can make your hair soft without the smell.

Wow @ the negativity and ole girl calling the op desperate..stuff like that is why i rarely post. People put coochie cream & everything under the sun on their head. smh..anyways I LOVE peanut butter! I get the organic crunchy kind. It HAS to be crunchy lol. I eat it right out of the jar..I wont put it on my hair simply because i'm not a mixtress and i'm too lazy to mix it up & i would just rather eat it. lol
