I'm now 10 weeks post relaxer..this is my first time doing this...I usually go 8wks...My question is ,Is it normal to shed sooooooo much hair after washing? I'm scared I'm going going bald.

During my last stretch (12 weeks)
I began noticing heavy shed when I was about 6-8 weeks post and I felt EXCATLY how you did lol. I was shedding so much that it was a surprised to me as to how hair still remained on my head. My advice to you would be:
-->Be VERY gentle with your hair during wash days while stretching. You are now entering a stage where your hair is VERY fragile, especially at the demarcation line. I would suggest you detangle with a wide-toothed comb, and some heavy conditioner or oil. NEVER try to detangle while your hair is dry :nono:. Also try to as little manipulation as possible.

-->Try a black-tea rinse/Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) rinse. I have heard numerous testimonials from the ladies on the board that have had success with this :yep:

-->Try taking garlic supplements, or even wash your hair with garlic shampoo (preferably ordorless if you can find it)

Hope this helps mammas! And good luck on your stretch! :yep:

ITA with DLisha. I am currently 14 wks post.
I also prepoo my hair with coconut oil or EVOO and this reduces the amount of hair lost.
Keep your hair very moisturized, esp the new growth. (Baggying can help with this).
Deep Condition at least once a week with heat.
I use Queen Helene Odorless Garlic shampoo twice a month while stretching.
You may also want to wash and detangle your hair in sections.

HTH and happy stretching!

Co-signing with this post above. I dont typically have much hair loss while doing my 12-16 week stretching. I also typically baggy and use coconut oil.

A link for baggying- http://www.fromshorttolong.com/2010/05/baggying-tutorial.html

Whole head baggying: After moisturizing and sealing, cover your head with a plastic bag or a shower cap and then put your bonnet or silk scarf over.
Some ladies just baggy their bun or ponytail. Same thing: apply shower cap over pony tail after moisturizing then (maybe cover with phony pony). Keeps your hair super moisturized. When I baggy, I don't feel the need to moisturize and seal twice a day or even every day.
