How many inches is neck length?

I BC'd a month ago. Right now I have 3.5"-4.25" of hair all the way around. Does that make me ear length or neck length? I ask because depending on where I pull the hair from I can be either.

it depends on the length of your head and neck. I think necklength is measured to the base of your neck, right were it meets the shoulder.

well, since our hair is naturally layered, especially after an even cut BC, your length will vary.

necklength for the forehead area will be much longer in length than necklength for the back.

I guess its up to you to determine where you want to consider necklength.

for example, after setbacks and haircuts, my hair around my ears is collarbone length and is approximately 8 inches. But 8 inches in the back is near armpit length. my crown is 8 inches but is necklength.

I'd average it out and call it app. 4". Where this reaches on you is a variable coz everyone's body is different but generally speaking if your hair was straightened out and trimmed to make it even then it would be about an ear length bowl cut for most adults
