well OP, you and your hair are still gorgeous - absolutely! With the vitamins - this will only enhance your hair growth as well as overally health. Just don't forget to keep drinking plenty of water.

And when i reach my hair goal? The last place i'm going to is a stylist. I'm going to treat my self to some Haagen Daz ice cream instead. You come along with me and we'll both be swinging our progress in the ice cream parlor:yep:

Ok. Let me restate. The Banyan Botanicals doesn't have a list of Vit. A, B, C, etc...it has strictly ayurvedic ingredients on the label. I'm aware that everything that edible has a nutrient profile.

Hey i LIKE these vitaimins. They not help my hair, but it helps the problems that my dosha is prone to, as well. I'm proned to thinning, premature greying and liver and digestive problems.

I started taking these Hair health vitamins with the oil, and noticed a difference w/in a few weeks. No more greys sprouting up, and it is noticeably thicker in density. My scalp is constantly tingling.

The oil not only complements the vitamins for hair growth, but aids in sleep, and relaxing the mind.

Before taking the vitamins, it's good find out what your dosha is - then see what works for you. It's more than just a straight vitamin ABC.. I agree. it's a great detoxifier as well.

it's all about the dosha's...

There was a recent thread on anyone who had good stories....I had one, but I can't find him now. He gave me one of the best trims I ever had. But I did bribe him with doubling the tip if I didn't leave there crying (He got $20.00)

OP, I so know how you feel. It is such a sinking feeling....like getting your car stolen. Part of why I think we trust them or aren't strong enough in watching them is that we don't want to be thought of as *****es. We've all learned something on here....NOT to let them turn your back to the mirror. The guy who I loved let me stand up with a large hand-held mirror to watch as he cut. It was a lovely feeling to be in control and to feel like he cared about my feelings. He actually even acknowledged that taking too much off would be too traumatic for me. Where is he? I keep calling his phone and it says "this person is not accepting phone calls"....doesn't he pay his cell phone bill?

I am going to pray and maybe I'll bump into him. One time we bumped into each other and he said he had been praying to bump into me because he needed some emergency dental treatment and he said I just appeared.

I wish you could post a picture of the back, because sometimes the sides look shorter when they hang over your shoulders like that but the back still hangs low. That's what's the case in my avatar picture above. The sides look shoulder length, but the back is past APL.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER trim with a stylist again. Who cares if it grows uneven and if it does you can use the creaclip to even it up by taking off 1/4 inch in 6 months. Hugs to you.

I do not trust those scissors happy scuzzies. I always let my daughter or friend cut my hair because I know they will cut what I want them to. My 11 year old neice had classic length hair until her mother send her to a shop to only get her very ends trimmed. When her mom went to pick her up half of her hair was gone. All of our family is very upset about this. How do you cut half of someones child hair off wothout there permission. That was just a mean and hateful act. my aunt is trying to talk her mom into sueing the stylist/

Yes, this was a CUT, a whole lot more than 1/2 inch:wallbash: Mourn your loss, because it will not grow back next week or next month. Then move on to what you know best - how to grow yourself some more hair!!!

So sorry this happened to you! :bighug:I've had this happen to me. I made it APL and my stylist took it away from me 2 weeks after. I started taking Countrywide Biotin (high potency) 5mg and for that past month have been taking Countrywide Maxi Hair.

I cried about the hair I lost but like others have said, I had nice healthy ends so I clung to that as a positive from the whole ordeal... I was still mad as hell though. Needless to say, I haven't let a stylist near my hair with scissors again, I trust only ME.

Your hair is beautiful OP. Before and after. But SHS make us all upset. Don't cry, with that vitamin reggie and protecting those ends, you'll be back in business in no time:yep:.

I am so sorry this happened, and I can certainly relate. My former " trusted" stylist is no longer my stylist and I am a DIY'er for good. It's tough to see your progress on the floor because your requests for a dusting or trim were not heard.

I wish you speedy growth! (((hugs))))

HHG!

WOW. I am so happy and grateful for all of the wonderful supporting replies I received. You are all truly wonderful and totally made my night!

Thank you so much, you all don't know how much it meant to me.

I just don't understand it. Some stylists need to have a refresher course called "BACK AWAY FROM THE SCISSORS 101" because it is really upsetting and very hurtful.

I know exactly how you feel....I achieved BSL in June and had my "trusty" stylist snip it away within minutes. I was very upset for a few days....then I realized that there was nothing I could do but grow it back. I hid my hair under a sew-in for a few weeks to forget about it, then started wet bunning to make sure that when it comes back, my ends are as healthy as possible. You will overcome this, I know it!

...can I come? :look: I looove vanilla swiss almond:lick::lick:

Anyway, OP your hair is still very pretty :yep: I hate that he chopped off sooooo much though! I mean really, he knows in his heart of hearts that that isn't a trim! Geez...

Very beautiful though

seconding this. :nono: No words can change what has happened to your beautiful length and so much time and effort put into it. All you can do is move on from here and yes, rely on yourself for trims, or perhaps prevent trims by taking good care of those ends so they dont need one.

:bighug: hon!
You're much better buying a good pair of hair trimming scissors and dusting your ends as needed (this involves only cuttinh off split ends as you find them, not doing straight up trims).
Search for Feye's self-trim method online....really useful!
Keep your head up, hon! Your hair will grow back and grow past what it was!

I don't understand why this happens!!! You made it CLEAR about retaining the length and this still happens! I'm so angry that there are no consequences for these SHSs. I feel like there should be!! If any other kind of employee committed an offense against a customer, that employee would either lose their job or the company would compensate the customer.

Can't we sue them or something?? Or gosh I dunno....REVOLT!

I don't think he was hating as some people have mentioned. Stylist always seem to want to even you out. It looks like he evened it out because the v was the longest part. Sorry this happened though. I don't let anyone cut my hair other than my Mama.

I think the stylist did retain the length, but it looked like all your recent progress was cut off, which sucks :(

I haven't let anyone trim my hair in a while, but when I last had it done, I asked them to show me exactly how much they wanted to cut. After we had an understanding on how much I wanted them to trim off, it worked out well.

Like Ms Lala said, most stylists think blunt ends are the epitome of good hair, so when they see anything uneven their first instinct is to even it out. If you ever decide to trust someone to trim your hair again, make sure your definition of retaining length and their definition is one and the same.
