To all the Bunner's Out there:
Did you all go from a straight up NON-BUNNER to BUNNER BY NATURE? And when I say "Bunner by Nature" For example:
Today I decided to go with a loose pony tail to give it a slight break ya know? Mind you I have to wake up around 8:00 to get ready for work.....well it is now 11:00...only 3 measely hours later and I already reverted to putting my hair up in a bun. I find this amazing b/c I used to HATE bunning :nono:....like absolutely HATE it! But now, I find my self doing as if it were second nature.......amazing!:yep:
Have any of you other ladies experienced this? It doesn't even have to be Bunning neccesarily......is there any other method that you used to be absolutely against that you now find yourself doing...sometimes unconsciously? Share it with me!!

I've been bunning for 18 years. It's just always been easiest for me. I bun 98% of the time now.

It's second nature for me to do any protective style now! Before I joined LHCF, I used to hate putting my hair in a ponytail or in braids / twists...now it's all I do!

Before LHCF I'd wear my hair down ALL the time. Now if my hair isn't up AND in a bun I freak out. The only thing I think about the whole time is "My ends are out, My ENDS are OUT!" So yes... buns have become my "security blanket"

Wow I love the colors you put together!!! But I am feel ya!!! I hated bunning too!!! Never wore my hair in a bun!! Ever! And now I do!! Now that I have it down I love the way it looks, in fact make me look more mature!! I like to slick my hair down, put all the nutrients in it while its wet and wrap it in a pretty bun with a silk scarf for ten mins!!! And then it looks nice and last the entire day. Neverrrrrr thought I would wear my hair like this!!!!!!! Yeah to LHCF! For the tip!

I hope I don't look old, I mean, more mature with my bun. :ohwell:

Thanks girl :)...I guess you can say imma "colorful" person? lol
but yes I know what you mean about the wraping the hair up..it's like when you wake in the morning to let it down...u feel like a new person! who know bunning could be so beneficial?
Thank God for LHCF! :notworthy

I've been bunning for 18 years. It's just always been easiest for me. I bun 98% of the time now.

Well THAT explains that beautiful head of hair you have miss lady! lol
you knew the secret of retaining length long before LHCF eh?

Since finding LHCF, I bun about 90% of the time. Before hair boards, I never bunned because my hair wasn't long enough. :ohwell:

I don't hate it but it can be boring sometimes, even if I use accesories.. But I soooooooo love the results that I get with bunning.........:grin:

i might have to re-visit bunning. I bunned for 2 weeks straight last month but the last week felt like a chore. I never really understood why people said they felt bored with the bun until i tried doing it long term.

Im a PS-er to the bone though. I was in back to back PS for probably 9 out of 12 months last year. :yep:

Shoooo, I been bunning since October 2009 LOL. I never hated bunning - in fact, I used to wet bun years ago before I even knew what that was. My hair was the longest it had ever been then. Now, I'm like the other poster - "My ends are out! My ends are out!" I may wear a high spikey ponytail on weekends to dress up a little, but during the week for work, bunning is a no-brainer :)

tryna learn how to put my naturally coily hair in a bun. I want to protect my ends from rubbing up against my clothing. Today I have made a better attempt at a bun!

I never bunned before LCHF because as an adult my hair was never long enough. It is long enough now but my shrinkage makes it look bad so I wear my phony ponytail over my bun. I find myself bunning almost everyday now because it is so easy and looks nice when you add a flower or two.

I started out not liking buns AT ALL. But for me now and because of how much hair I have gained, it's just automatic. I tend to only let my hair "out" when I'm out on the town now.

Bunning is my new staple. I use to be too flickted (uncoordinated) and couldn't bun. It was just so akward feeling and looked tiny but now I know how to bun and make it look nice and juicy without using a sock. In the morning it's whip whip whip (my sound for saying I can bun quickly)...a bun is born in no time and I'm out the door. Voila!

Was not able to bun before cuz hair was not long enough now its my Staple style.

This is exactly me!!! LOL!!!
:lachen:

I didn't bun very often before LHCF, but now I don't feel it's long enough to wear down - and look good - which is crazy because it's longer now than ever before. Looking at all the WSL/TBL heads of hair makes me think I should keep it bunned/updos until at least MBL.

That, and I'm lazy.

ETA: Oh yeah, buns didn't look good until I was at APL, so that's another reason I didn't wear them before.

I've been bunning for the last two weeks straight. Like the OP, I used to HATE buns. Mostly because I was wearing my ponytails too tight and I had a headache by mid-day.
But recently I've found a way to wear cute buns without stressing my hair (and getting a headache). I've changed to bunning daily b/c I love the softness of my hair after its been well moisturized and protected for several days straight. AND I'm trying to achieve BSL by my b-day (In Oct) I only have 1 1/2 to go!

:bump:
Hey! I thought this thread was kinda cool...I refuse to let it be so short-lived....get in here and talk to me ladies!!

I can't bun yet, but shortly after my BC I kept flat twisting/cornrowing my hair. I wouldn't even think about WnG's. Now I don't do anything but! I guess it would be best, retention wise, to do more protective styles.
