He doesnt help me like style my hair or anything like that, But he does like to help me wash it ... though he usually has ulterior motives LOL

also the last time I forgot my head tie when I slept over by him he offerd his football shorts, when I gave him the stink eye, he said "well they are SILKY" .

So I guess he's been listening to me or he's been reading LHCF when I leave it up on his laptop

 that's cute!

I used to let him help me with touch-ups, but he thinks he knows everything (he's a 1A and had no personal experience with textured hair until we got together), so now I have to just declare that I'm doing my hair, and he accepts that as code for "leave me the heck alone while I handle this". LOL; I love him to pieces, and he has been my biggest fan/cheerleader on my HHJ, so it's all good.

No help really but I don't ask for it either. He has offered to help which was sweet. Not sure what I'd be willing to let him do, lol....i was thinking maybe apply my deep conditioner to my already dry detangled hair in sections but that's about it, lol.

Hmmm he helps me wash or cowash when I'm over his place
He gives great scalp massages to  but then too he has anterior motives with that one
He helps me practice 2 strand twists, help with taming my hair for my banana clip and verbally he is very supportive. I think it's because were both trying to grow our natural hair and have good healthy hair.

He compliments my hair frequently and reads LHCF posts with me and we looooove YouTube Natural Hair Vids (I think he has a crush on MlleCafeAuLait)! I enjoy getting his opinion on the hair topics we discuss and I also love the fact that he motivates me in my HHJ instead of making fun of my new found obsession.

Taking out my micros!!!!! We rent movies, I sit on the floor, he gets his own rattail (sp?) comb and we get to work. He's a bit slow, but he's gentle! :)

Newly single, but my last SO (we were together 3 years) did nothing to help...in fact, he was a hindrance. He wanted my hair to be long, thick, & luscious but complained when I tied it up at night (he wanted it out each night so he could play in it) or spent time washing, conditioning, or moisturizing it and regularly called me vain for spending time on my appearance. One of the many reasons why he's my EX- SO...lol

Anyone new in my life is going to have to get with the program to get with me! LOL
My needs have to come first if I'm going to reach my hair and beauty goals

i actually laughed out loud at that part  that is sooo cute.

My hubby is a great help when I need progress pics taken and has helped me with measurments of how many inches I have to reach my next hair goal. He also has been very supportive of me transitioning to natural, and "tolerates" my hair obsession and being on LHCF everyday..LOL. As for him physically helping me doing anything with my hair, he doesn't...but he did help me cut the thread before when I took down a sew in I had. :)

Progress pics
LOTS of encouragement when I get down about the length (shrinkage is a beast)
He even sometimes helps me make some of my products
Reminds me to take my satin bonnet when we go to the movies (I slip it on my buns once the light go off LMBO)

That reminded me of the one time my hubby helped? me take out my kinky twists before I realized it he had fell asleep still holding my twist. It was the thought that counts but OMGoodness I had a good laugh because he was only on like twist number 10

He helps me measure my hair and will purchase any product I ask for. If he sees I'm out he'll get it before I ask. He gives a lot of verbal encouragement. I LOVE him.

Verbal encouragement is all that I ask from my husband. Oh, he also gives me patience, especially when it comes to buying products, :lachen: and help with progress pics.

umm he doesnt. Matter of fact he gets upset whn I even mention hair nowadays. But its cool I feel the same abt him and sports so it is wht it is

I haven't made him aware of my umm Hair craze... :look: yet.. i'm sure once I make him aware of it.. he will do things to help like pick up my hair products from the store...help me blow dry my hair.. things like that..Only problem is i'm afraid if I tell him about it.. he'll be in my stash..

My husband has been very encouraging and supportive during my transition. No he doesn't understand all the hair products, cowashing, the steamer, etc., but he knows that all of this is necessary for me to maintain the health of my hair. Most importantly, he tells our girls that they don't have to have to use "chemicals" to have beautiful hair. My daughters' healthy, thick, lush, hair is what started me on the road to natural hair.

ITA with you guys, he will help take down micros/kinky twists, the few times i have gotten them. and he will take his time and be very gentle... he helps me most by not fussing at me about all the money i spend on my PJ addiction lol.. :spinning: whenever i come home with a big full of goodies, he just looks at me and shakes his head :lachen:

He doesn't.

The only thing he does is use my products and tell me I'm washing my hair too much. "All that washing your hair all the time is gonna make your hair fall out," and his other famous line, "Are you going back to the beauty shop?" I told him last week I was going to get my hair done, the next day I came home with kinky twists, he looked disappointed. I'm sure he thought I was going to the dominicans. Oh, well.

These stories are so cute/funny/ and typical !!!!

Sometimes I think they are a bit jealous of the time we spend on our hair.... but as my b/f says there are lots of things he doesnt particularly LIKE doing,he only does them to make me happy 'cause once Im happy he gets more.

My Dh is Great with my hair because he loves to see it healthy! He actually trims, blow dries (on occassion), scalp massages, and whatever else I need. As we speak I am under the dryer doing my first rollerset and I DCed overnight and when he heard me in the shower he came in and massged my hair and rinsed it out and helped me rollerset. Wiht my last trimmed he actually suggested I get bangs and I love them they are bangin! LOL I am blessed that he is so invested in my healthy hair journey:-)
