You can try clarifying with Paul Mitchel Tea tree special shampoo. Also condition with Paul Mitchel tea tree special conditioner (optional). Then massage your scalp with a mixture of 2 tbs of jojoba oil, 5 drops of rosemary oil, and 2 drops of lavender oil every night. This solved my scalp itchness many years ago. I hope that helps.

Honestly, it could just be hair growth. I know it sounds crazy, but my scalp has been incredibly itchy lately-almost to the point of pain. It's still quite itchy, but when I massaged my scalp and felt the parts, the areas that were itchiest also had the most new growth . (up to a 1/4- 1/2"). I've only had this style for a little over a week, but I've recently started taking my vitamins

Such a long thread this is.... but, do you use a shower filter and change it regularly? This could be the culprit.

I've had an itchy scalp lately. I thought it was this oil mixture I used to massage my scalp. Nope. I don't know what it is. But I have been using KeraCare Dry and Itchy Scalp Glossifier (which has helped some) and tomorrow I'm going to clarify. Hopefully I'll figure it out soon.

My scalp just started itching likecrazy after I used some Amla oil on my hair and scalp as a hot oil treatment, and then my face broke out and my scalp has been on fire every since, I have only used Vatika Oil, but didn't have any so I used what I had left which was the Amla oil. Then my scalp has gotten sore from me scratching, I wake up out my sleep scratching my head, I will never use that oil again.

Have you tried diluted apple cider vinegar on your scalp as the last rinse. It balances the ph on your scalp and it's anti fungal as well. Just pour it on your scalp, massage it in your scalp. Do not rinse it out. The smell of vinegar will go as your hair dries.
It takes a few washes but it should improve by the wash.
I had a similar problem and i believe this and tea tree oil helped.

ACV is what cured my scalp problems, I used to literally be able to pull skin from my scalp like a scab, for the last 3 months I ve been rinsing with ACV and I dont have anymore scalp problems

None of the shampoos cured myscalp problems, I tried selsun blue, t/gel, t/sal(helped ok but didnt cure it) keracare, i used sulfur 8 didnt help only ACV cured the problem

I read this whole thread and was very surprised that noone mentioned central centrifugal citracal alopecia, which affects the crown area. It's an autoimmune response that causes your WBC to attack the hair follicles. The internal "itch" and soreness is actually inflammation.

First let me ask: Do you have itching for a day or two followed by soreness to the touch?

Also, when you get a flare up, does it feel good if you pull the hair on your scalp or can you pull out hairs easily one by one?

You may have to approach it from the inside. (maybe foods you eat contribute to it). Also, less manipulation of scalp is better. Try putting cortisone cream on the crown and see if you get relief. (but never use this longterm since its a steriod)

LOL!.................
:lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen: i thought you meant the roach killer

you have to be clear with me! lol
I'm very literal! When i was younger my dad advised me to eat pollen b/c it would help develop an immunity for allergies (due to pollen)
I ate the pollen off the trees outside, was sick as hellllllll-o headache

HE SIMPLY MEANT GO TO HEALTH FOOD STORE, BEE POLLEN

Well, I have it too by my own diagnosis. I know that steriod shots have been extemely successful for some and have caused detrimental setbacks for others. Soooo, Im doing all natual remedies until they dont work for me anymore.

Also, is the hair texture different here? Mine is much looser and although it grows fast in the area, it breaks HORRIBLY here. Sometimes down to a couple of inches.

Also, get someone to examine your scalp. If the hair is thinner here, observe if two or more hairs are coming out the same orifice in some spots. If so, that called polytrichia which is also related (not sure why)

ETA: EO mixture works for me if I use it 2x a day for a couple of days. Also work out after applying it so that your pores are open (it has a cooling affect on the scalp).

(the one for hair growthI 3 drops lavender, 3 drops rosemary, 2drops cedarwood, 2 drops tea tree...and one other I forgot, but I will find it for you later. It's mixed with jojoba oil and grapeseed oil.

I dont want to "claim" it either, but definitely want to reduce or eliminate any possible side effects ;)

I was having this same problem for the last 3 days. Im trying to fig out if its from co washing to much or from changing my conditioner up. I am going to go back to washing once a week.
