How do you finance your PJism?

After the bills are paid-- I spend how I want :look:

I do not dip into savings for things like hair/ shopping

Ditto.

I just stop being a PJ. I was spending way too much money buying products and jumping on bandwagons. It's cheaper not to buy excessive hair products than to budget for it to begin with.

Another ditto. When I realized how much I was actually spending on hair products, qualifying for the level 3 gifts at Ulta every time :look:, I decided to just use up what I have before buying anything else. Right now I have enough conditioner and shampoo and leave-ins to last for the rest of the year.

well when i have a job, i just get what i want. work, blehh. lol. when i don't, i have my mama finance it for me. :look:

Yall some real PJs up in hea! I'mt ryna cut back on my spending. I try to only buy hair products only twice a month. I have my staples so I really don't need anymore experimentals. I've been giving those away lately. I just gave my whole organic root stimulator line away since I'm in braids, half the bottle was gone, and I use Keracare.

When I DO buy hair stuff it's usually around the time of refund checks, a BIG pay check where I worked overtime, or my mommy or gma have given me some money.

I buy my products from professional only stores so I don't pay full price and even then I bring my man along cause when he's there I never have to open my wallet.

I don't know if I am a pj.
It depends on your definition.
I have my staples and really only purchase those.

I buy things in bulk so I do not have to purchase as often which saves on shipping or gives me free shipping; and if something is at a ridiculously low price.
I generally purchase in quantities of 6 unless it oils which are in quantities of 2.
Or I buy all I can get my hands on if it is a low price. I paid $2.97 for 30 bottles of V05 and bought over 40 jars of Lekair when it was 49 cents.

But then...I am purchasing for myself and 3 other people and my sister also gets in my stuff.

Although, I would still purchase that amount even if it was only for myself. I hate running out of things and having to run to the store. I'd rather do without than run out to the store for something.

When I or the girls need something, we just go the the closet.

I really do not spend all that much money. The products I use are very inexpensive. I'm cheap.

Where do you get your products from in bulk?

The beauty supply store by my job had the 49 cent Lekair. They also had perms on sale for a dollar something so I got a lot of those for my sisters. They also have hair accessories that are cheap and cute.

I got the 30 V05(s) for $2.97 when that sale of $10 off with 99 shipping was happening. I used my personal and work e-mail and had my sister do the other. I would have gotten more if my brother and friend had done it in time. I still have not gotten over that one.

I use my friend's Sam's card to get my olive oil (101 oz for $14.52). BTW, I also use her card to get 50 pounds of rice for $14.79. We eat rice pretty much daily.

With my Sally's cards (which is definitely worth getting), I pay $11.99 for 80 oz of Queen Helene Deep Conditioner and $2.59 for 20 oz of Lustrasilk Shea Butter. I usually purchase on-line rather than go to the local Sally's. Shipping is free with a purchase of $50 or more. I purchased the Lustrasilk I have now when it was on sale for a dollar something.

I purchase my coconut oil and wheat germ oil at vitacost.com. I've never had a problem with them.
Viobin Wheat Germ Oil Liquid -- 32 fl oz for $13.22

Nutiva Certified Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil -- 54 oz for $21.09.

I'm still on the look out to find these 2 oils for less.

I am always looking for a bargain and take advantage when I find it which makes me really good at my job because part of my job is purchasing for a non-profit.

i use whats left after bills, rent and savings are accounted for. but i also go through phases where i don't have any desire to go shopping at all.

I don't really budget for my hair product. if I have the money ( all bills are paid, etc) and their is a product I want, I go ahead and buy it. If I dont have the money at the time, i'll just get it when i can.

I'm debt free. I pay in cash (debit card) for everything. If I put something on the credit card it is paid off within the next month or so. I'm also single with no kids and have a job that pays me very well. Last thing is I'm spoiled :look: so I buy what I want when I want it.

Stay out of this particular forum. I don't spend money from going to the Entertainment Forums or the Off Topic forums except on large amounts of Ibuprofen.

I am employed with no children and very cheap rent (yeah, I'm that cool chick that lives with mom. Will probably move out, hopefully, by the end of the year which will definitely put a damper on not just pj-ism but wig-ism).

When I do go into product insanity, it's usually drug store stuff on sale. I've found out through trial & error that my hair can't tell the difference between salon stuff & drugstore stuff. Also, I'm not aware of salon shampoos that are sulfate free (and don't you enablers dare name any in reply).

I also didn't renew my Sally's Beauty Supply Card. Paying full price inhibits my product junkie tendencies. Well, most of the time, anyways.

I do prioritize though. What's the use of having great hair if you can't pay your doctor bills or for gas?

That's the truth!
My hair does not need that high priced high falutin stuff. My hair and wallet likes every day low prices.

I'm cheap to the bone and proud of it!

WOW! When was lekair 49 cents? I need to get on yo level.. geez!

I have an acct. where my "fun" money goes to so its basically budgeted in, but I read something earlier about some ladies buying a pre paid card early in the year and only using that to purchase hair items. I'm still trying to pin down my staple items but I dont think I ever go too crazy.
