How do you finance your PJism?

I posted a similar question in the makeup forum.

I know that I have a small amount deposited into a separate account with each paycheck - that is my "play money." What about you? Is it a regular part of your budget? Got a sugar daddy? Is your habit sending you to the poor house?

Spill!

With all the married ladies on this forum, the real question is "How do their husbands finance their PJism?" :drunk:

Through everybodies tax dollars and loans. LOL. seriously. I'm a college student, I get financial aid. LOTS of financial aid. After I pay off more important things (i.e. Rent, bills, ect.), I go hair shopping.

So...uh... thanks tax payers! :look:

I wish I got that much financial aid :lachen:

I explore, research and experiment a lot until I figure out how to get the product or look I want for less without sacrificing quality. It's a way of life. :)

I'm cheap so I wait until there's a ridiculously awesome sale before I go bananas. That or I tell my wonderfully supportive boyfriend to pick it up while he's shopping for himself lmao

I try to only buy things as needed; having an extremely limited income (unemployment) helps keep me in line.

My husband and I have our other jobs outside of our 9-5's (I'm in the Nat'l Guard). He spends his on whatever and I spend mine on whatever (usually gadgets and hair products).:lick:

I write articles and do work-study at school so ...yea after bills r paid... i pretty much do what i want

I'm an executive assistant at a brokerage firm, so I use my income to buy my products. I've been pretty good. I dont spend that much on hair products.

I'm not a pj anymore but I just make sure I make enough for savings and bills and then add the price of the hair product/tool that I want. Also having an amazon wishlist helps, my family or friends sometimes can get the products I like and it's a nice surprise

After the bills are paid-- I spend how I want :look:

I do not dip into savings for things like hair/ shopping

After important things are paid...then i buy my products.....unless...like recently....its emergency bc i ran out of EVERYTHING then it becomes important as well:grin:

I keep a separate fund and a wish list. I also wait a while before I make a purchase on an item I think I want.

I also hold back from spending elsewhere. So whatever my flavor of the month desire is, I put other things on hold - if I splurge on hair, I won't shop for shoes (or shop as much)

Hair is also a business expense for me so I keep a separate credit card for my purchases to keep up for tax season.

Its all about balance - my life doesn't revolve around my hair.

DH is more than happy to foot the bill. He's EXTREMELY happy that he doesn't have to pay a salon to keep up 4 heads of hair on a weekly basis. Any hair stuff I want is far cheaper than my DD's & I going to hair salons.

I just stop being a PJ. I was spending way too much money buying products and jumping on bandwagons. It's cheaper not to buy excessive hair products than to budget for it to begin with.

I don't know if I am a pj.
It depends on your definition.
I have my staples and really only purchase those.

I buy things in bulk so I do not have to purchase as often which saves on shipping or gives me free shipping; and if something is at a ridiculously low price.
I generally purchase in quantities of 6 unless it oils which are in quantities of 2.
Or I buy all I can get my hands on if it is a low price. I paid $2.97 for 30 bottles of V05 and bought over 40 jars of Lekair when it was 49 cents.

But then...I am purchasing for myself and 3 other people and my sister also gets in my stuff.

Although, I would still purchase that amount even if it was only for myself. I hate running out of things and having to run to the store. I'd rather do without than run out to the store for something.

When I or the girls need something, we just go the the closet.
Here is a picture of the top 2 shelves:

I really do not spend all that much money. The products I use are very inexpensive. I'm cheap.

I figure it into my budget and i usually buy in bulk to save a little but i never go over board on hair products.

GG, I'm so glad you've asked this question b/c I wonder the same thing when I see some of these stashes.......(including mine *hanging head in shame*)

me and my husband make compromises when it comes to purchasing hair stuff. I promise him to only buy stuff that I really want and am actually gonna use and that I'll strt doing me and my daughters hair more often to cut down on salon expenses. And so we pretty much get what we want. And the trems of our agreement keeps me from beign a pj so I really only buy staples
