Gorgeous!!! You are an INSPIRATION to me. One of the reasons I am going back to natural. I LOVE your hair :) I will keep the blowdrying in mind ,as I have the same issues sometimes with knotting.

I  your hair. I love my fine tresses, I do, but I love love to see a full luxurious head of hair, which you clearly have.

Thanks for sharing. You have BEAUTIFUL hair. I told myself I would straighten more often to prevent SSKs but I didn't. Thanks for the inspiration.

:lovedrool: Gorgeous hair , as usual. And I love your accessories - very tasteful and distinctive. That banded bead ponytail is my dream hairstyle - can't wait for the day that I can do it!

Glad that your new regimen is working out for you.:yep:

this looks like it is working really well for you:) I wish my hair could tolerate that much heat, and I know my virgin hair will but not my ends, no way no how. Your retention looks really awesome, and I love how soft and fluffy your twist outs look. Your hair looks pettable.

I love, love your hair..I wish my twists came out like this..I want to start wearing them again..we should have a hair styling party..and you can do it for me:yep:

You do what works best for you and your hair, always!!

I'm glad you've found something that works (obviously) well for you!!

BTW, beautiful hair and fabulous progress Mwedzi!

Thank you. This is really the point I wanted to make. I know there's a lot of "no heat" dogma, but sometimes you just have to listen to your own hair. Heat can be damaging, you must proceed with caution, but it also might be able to help.

Your hair is beautiful. I glad you found something that works for you. You have inspired me to look into those hair accessories.

Thank you. I love hair accessories. I am not a product junkie anymore, that was only for the early time after joining the hair boards. But I love a good accessory. The Timberstone Turnings and Ficcare are expensive but they are of a far superior quality than anything you're going to get at a BSS or CVS or whatever.

You are so creative with your hair! The growth and retention is amazing. Beautiful pictures.:yep:

Thank you. I used to do more styles with my hair, but I'm winding down. I'm tired!

Thank you. That banded ponytail is actually quite difficult for me to do. I think it would be so much easier if someone did it for me, because it's hard to position the beads right with your hands behind your head. I tried recently and failed.

Thank you. Heat is definitely not for everybody. My strands aren't super thin, and that may have something to do with my hair being able to withstand some heat. Just listen to your own hair.

Thanks. Wasn't the idea a year or two ago. I'm not in Chicago anymore, either.

I always look forward to your progress pictures! OMG how many inches did your hair grow in the past 6 months?! Seems like you've retained every inch and then some!

BTW I absolutely love your hair in this ponytail pic

Utterly amazing!!! And it grows so FAST!!!!!!!!

^^^ Yeah I think so..I didn't go though..you're not in Chicago :( Where are you?

I got a job in Maryland. I will miss the Chicago meetups. :(

Yay, Kiya, my hair friend! Thank you! I do think my hair grows faster than average. I retained 2 1/2", and that includes 2 trims and who knows how much breakage (because I still get plenty).

Oh BostonMaria, I meant to say to you, too, that I still break off lots of hair. If I had to guess how many inches I actually grew in 6 months, considering my trims and all my breakage, I think it would have to be 4+.

Congratulations Mwedzi on your new job and life in Maryland!!! Your hair is gorgeous!!! You have really retained length. I also am in love with your hairstyles and accessories!!! This is definitely inspiring. Thank you for sharing. :)

My Hairheroine! I have always loved your hair and seeing your new styles was a special treat for me. Thanks for updating.
As for your "lil' bit" heat challenge, it seems to prove a success. I get a lot of breakage too, but have stopped over worrying about it, because I have done everything to curb it ( I figured I would have to pay the piper for my past misdeeds eventually any way), but I would love to see results like yours even with some breakage. What kind of comb/brush do you use, how often, and can we see a typical day or week's worth of shed/breakage?

I love how sheeny (if that's a word) you hair is, it's like fine spun raw silk. :lick: Beautiful! I may have to make a pilgrimmage to DC/Maryland just to see you (and your hair) person. The stalker in me is fully alert now.

Thank you for posting your results. :yep:

Your hair is beautiful! :thud: I think that as my hair grows longer - well, BIGGER - I will want to do more updos/buns and it's impossible w/o stretching first. Using heat this way may wind up being the answer for me as well. :yep:

Awww Mwedzi your hair is absolutely beautiful.

Thank you for shaing your progress pictures

Keep up the wonderful work

You're an inspiration to all

Persistance pays!!!!

I love your hair, its such an inspiration.

I've been struggling with SSK's and I was thinking of blow-drying instead of twisting wet & air-drying. I may try that.
