*Drooling all over your hair*

I was stalking your fotki the other day and saw that you're incorporating more heat. I'm glad that it's working so well for you! You are about to say hello to waist length soon! Love the accessories too (as usual!) !

*continues to drool*

Beautiful hair as always!! I'm glad you found something thats working well for you. And I'm so going to learn how to do that banded ponytail!

Beautiful Hair. This is what I'm working toward... soooo umm don't mind if I stalk your fotki no and then ok.

My Hairheroine! I have always loved your hair and seeing your new styles was a special treat for me. Thanks for updating.
As for your "lil' bit" heat challenge, it seems to prove a success. I get a lot of breakage too, but have stopped over worrying about it, because I have done everything to curb it ( I figured I would have to pay the piper for my past misdeeds eventually any way), but I would love to see results like yours even with some breakage. What kind of comb/brush do you use, how often, and can we see a typical day or week's worth of shed/breakage?

I love how sheeny (if that's a word) you hair is, it's like fine spun raw silk. :lick: Beautiful! I may have to make a pilgrimmage to DC/Maryland just to see you (and your hair) person. The stalker in me is fully alert now.

Thank you. I don't have a picture of all my shedding and breakage. It's a lot. So I usually put it on a paper towel as I'm doing it and throw away the paper towel and get a new one 2 or 3 times for the whole process.

I use this comb from hairsense

In fact, I ordered another when I thought I lost my first, but then I found my first, so now I have an unused comb just like it. Maybe I'll trade it for something on the trade forum

Dwezi, fo shizzy,

since you run the dryer up and down the length without a comb attachment, what do you do about the ends?

I do the ends separately. After doing most of the length of my hair, I just pull on the ends and hit them with the blow dryer. They do not get straight by any means, just a little stretched.

Okay, so now for some pictures. First, here is a video of me flat ironing my hair. I don't get my hair straight, and that is okay with me. :) FYI, I blow dried with a Garnier Fructis anti-frizz serum. I got it in the hopes that the cones would protect my hair from heat. Oh, one more good point. Since using heat, my hair responds more positively to products with cones in them. Before, they would just make my hair velcro-y.

Hair that was blow dried and then twisted with oil. After setting overnight, undo the twists and this is the result:

This is a twist out, not on blow dried hair. This hair was air dried. The stick is from the Etsy seller Timberstone Turnings (his work is beautiful )

Also air dried hair:

Blow dried hair (I think). This Ficcare is my favorite accessory ever. It is expensive, but it is worth it. Very high quality and very beautiful.

Beaded ponytail band and ponytail holder with gogo. Here are the YouTube tutorials on how to make them:

Thanks for looking.

Your hair is so Beautiful you make me wanna go in the bathroom and cut all my hair off to nothingness lol,:look: but I'm not but when I saw how pretty your hair is I wanted to and I still want to. (Ok getting out of the thread before I cut my hair)

Congratulations! Your hair looks really good girl! I wish that I wouldn't have believed so much of the hype about heat as a natural.

GORGEOUS as usual hair twin!!!

So glad heat is working out for you .. I've been TERRIFIED of it all this time due to the horror stories but your success and the success of several other naturals 4Bs that I've come across lately has convinced me to give it a try myself .. I've been using my blow dryer on COOL lately but this takes no less than 3 hours on my dense hair and I find that a bit ridiculous especially since my hair is not even long yet .. wondering if using heat will make it go faster

Questions:

How long does the blow drying process usually take you?

Do you "moisturize" during the week? If so, what do you use?

Would you say that the MAJORITY of your strands are fine, medium or course?

I ask b/c my strands are mostly fine & fragile and I'm scurred (lol) of causing more damage than good

TIA

 Thank you. I'm sure your own hair is quite lovely.

Yeah, I wish I didn't believe it for so long. I really had no excuse since I was natural and using heat before the boards. What can I say? I'm credulous. :ohwell:

Thank you! Blow drying, oiling, and twisting as I go takes about 1 hr.

I do moisturize during the week, usually only once, maybe twice. I might add oil more often than that, though.

I think by traditional tests, my hair is fine. That is, compared to all of humanity, it is on the fine side. Compared to black people, though, I think my strands are mostly medium.

You have really beautiful hair, goodness! There's so much of it too. That is really great progress :yep: I'm glad your new reggie is working for you.

OMG you have soooooooooooooo much hair and it is fab. Single strand knots have been getting me too but when I was using heat I had more splits and breakage. I need to find a happy medium. Your hair really looks healthy though.

You have amazing hair Mwedzi. I love the plait. :love:Your hair encourages me to keep my hair natural no matter what.

Wow!! Your hair looks amazing. Congrats on your progress and finding a regemin that works for you.

when I tell that my heart literally skipped a beat when I saw those comparison pictures...LAWD!!!! Beautiful! Just....(speechless)
