What weightless daily moisturizers do you use? I would like to moisturize my hair daily or at least 3times a week before wash but I worry about weighing down my hair, losing the nice salon sleek look and stiffness. What have you used to so far that worked and still gives a soft free flowing hair and how do you apply it?

I don't like wearing my hair very straight; what lose curl styles do you do when going to bed to achieve some nice lose curls or waves during the day? Thanks in advance for all tips.

Before my transition I would moisture my straight hair with HE+LTR leave-in, but now that I don't use cone-laced leave-ins or moisturizers I use Qhemet Biologics Burdock root butter. I like this product both on my texlaxed/relaxer ends and NG.

Elasta QP has a good moisturizer. I can't remember the name and I'm not at home right now.

If you want loose curls/waves you could try bantu knot-outs or flexi rods.

I posted a similar question a few months ago. I was given good advice... moisturize my ends and seal with coconut oil. By doing this, my hair maintains its swang and silkiness:grin:

My hair LOVES coconut oil I normally use it every night before I wrap my hair and when I take it down in the morning it is smooth silky and very weightless.

i think the key is to be lighthanded. its easy to feel like you need more. on relaxed hair, less is more for me.

I wash my hair weekly and wrap it when i take a shower so that steam is moisturizing my hair. i just seal as need a couple times a week with moroccan oil. I don't put anything else on my hair right now. i maintain that swangalang even weeeeeks into my relaxer. and from not putting products on my hair, im finding that my scalp produces more of it own natural oil.

I am relax/texlax and I really don't moisturize my hair at all after my weekly wash/DC. I apply some elasta qp h-two and organix coconut milk anti- breakage serum and that leaves my hair shiney and moisturized for atleast a week. I may take a dab of the coconut milk serum on day 3 when wrapping at night but thats it. My hair is very fine/thin and can't take alot of product when wearing it down. My siggy pic was taken 3 days after I wash and sealed my hair and it still looks moisturized

I've found that I don't have to moisturize if I dc with a good conditioner. I might have to use a lil coconut oil to add shine mid-week, but dc'ing 1x a week has really upped my moisture game.

I use Neutrogena Triple Moisture Silk touch Leave in and Sally's Argan Oil.

I agree with Luving me - I don't have to moisturize normally. I deep condition weekly and usually there is no need for it.

I have coconut oil but I think my hair will get very oily after repeated nightly use.

Do you have links to elasta qp h-two and organix coconut milk anti- breakage serum products?

My hair is also fine but dry so I'm trying prevent breakage.
How did you get your hair to look like that in your sig? Do you wrap it at night?

My hair was deep conditioned with Alter Ego Garlic over the weekend and it still feels moisturized. My hair was so dry in the past so I figured I should moisturize a little more during the week so the dryness doesn't come back.

I have the following product but I haven't tried them,
Jane Carter - Hair Nourishing Cream
Profective - Growth Lotion
ORS Olive Oil - Oil Moisturizing Hair Lotion

Which of these is light enough to use for a thin relaxed hair.

This is me exactly. I've found that if I use a very good moisturing deep condtioner at least once a week, I do not have to moisture other than a tiny dab of coconut oil or shescentit's healthy hair serum.

I do not own one single "moisturizer".

Honestly, if your hair is thin, I think the above products would just weigh your hair down. Have you ever tried Kera Care Oil Sheen? I know a lot of people frown on oil sheens but this one is actually very light and moisturing.

Also shescentit.com has some very good deep conditioners that should keep your hair moisuturized until your next wash. I also love their healthy hair serum. :yep:

I have both in my closet and sometimes my hair also does call for Kera Care Oil Sheen I have had the same one for 2 years. :) I use it sparingly occasionally but it fits the bill when needed.

SheSCENTIT Banana BRulee under the steamer is deadly you will drown in moisture :D I love it.

My favorite moisturizer is the Bee Mine Luscious cream moisturizer, but if you are looking for a daily spritzer type of product I use either the Jane Carter Revitilizing Leave-In or Dove Daily Moisture Spray (and I add a little glycerin). I use those if I need to moisturize more than once per day and they are very light and weightless!

Currently moisturizing with Qhemet Burdock Root Butter Cream (love) and sealing with coconut oil and i wear my hair down 90% of the time

I think I sometimes confuse shine and moisture. How do you tell the difference? Wouldn't both give off the appearance of being dull? I think I'm far to heavy handed when apply products.

I use Profective Growth Lotion. The key is to use a very tiny amount and concentrate on the ends. Then I do pincurls (with 2 prong clips) overnight to wear loose curls the next day.

Nightly - Tap water and Grapeseed oil. My strands are fine and any other oil is too heavy.

Every couple of days - Either my Humectress and water mix leave-in or Aussie Moist and water mix leave-in
or
Silicon Mix Protein leave-in (might ditch this after I use it up, not doing much for me for the cost of it)

Oh, and flexirods overnight for curls or waves.

I had this same dilema some time ago. I ran from wearing straight styles because I knew my priority was to keep my hair moisturized and I could not find a way to moisturize straight hair without forgoing the style. so I left straight styles alone for a while. After doing some research and trying different techniques, I found the miracle product just for the case: Wave Nuevau...I know it may be hard to believe, but yes this did it for me. The key is to use very little, as one of the previous ladies posted. and with WN, a little really do go a long way.

when i want to get that nice bounce at the end, at night I section my hair and put a little on each section and take a roller and roll the hair around the roller (not rolling the roller but keeping the roller still (length side up) and winding the hair around the roller). In the morning my hair is moisturized and have big wavey ringlets at the end.

I love it and get a lot of compliments with this technique.
