Darcy Botanicals Peach Kernal moisturiser or NTM Triple Moisture, but I only need a tiny amount. When using flexi rods I'll use my Aveda Brilliant styling cream with a drop of Aveda Emollient. My hair is very light and bouncy with shine using this method.

I think I need to heed this thread and stop using so much product. Im very heavy handed and everytime I attempt to moisturize multiple times a week my hair is a greasy mess.
Ive always had trouble finding the right products for my hair and have purchased many products mentioned on this board and absolutely hated them but now im beginning to think the problem is with my application and not the product.

Hydrotherma Naturals Daily Moisturizing Growth Lotion. I use only a dime size and work it through. I moisturize at night, wrap or pincurl, and wake up with smooth and soft hair. The key is less is more.

I had this same dilema some time ago. I ran from wearing straight styles because I knew my priority was to keep my hair moisturized and I could not find a way to moisturize straight hair without forgoing the style. so I left straight styles alone for a while. After doing some research and trying different techniques, I found the miracle product just for the case: Wave Nuevau...I know it may be hard to believe, but yes this did it for me. The key is to use very little, as one of the previous ladies posted. and with WN, a little really do go a long way.

when i want to get that nice bounce at the end, at night I section my hair and put a little on each section and take a roller and roll the hair around the roller (not rolling the roller but keeping the roller still (length side up) and winding the hair around the roller). In the morning my hair is moisturized and have big wavey ringlets at the end.

I love it and get a lot of compliments with this technique.
What do you secure your rollers with? When I moisturize/seal, I roll up my hair by rolling the roller around the hair and secure with the metal double prong clips. I also get a wavy look by morning. I will try your way though. Sounds neat.

I think I sometimes confuse shine and moisture. How do you tell the difference? Wouldn't both give off the appearance of being dull? I think I'm far to heavy handed when apply products.

For me, moisturized hair moves and is soft to the touch, it doesn't make any noise when you run your fingers through(seems like Sistaslick mentioned the sound moisturized hair shouldn't make. . .correct me if I'm wronf)

Shiny hair can be cute, and look nice, but feel like straw. it still sounds like dead grass when you touch it

The only thing i have that is "weighless" is Jojoba oil. i use a bit on my ends and it doesn't weigh my hair down.

OMGGGGGGG I want ur roller-setting skills. got any youtubes/blogs/etc on your technique?

also, sweet almond oil is really light, so much so that I thought it was drying my hair out because i wasnt expecting it to disappear.

I just decided to go cone free as well and I really like Giovanni Direct Leave In and Qhemet Biologics Burdock Root Butter Cream. I like it so much that I plan on purchasing the other moisturizers in the product line.

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Silk leave-in
Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship leave-in
Organix Coconut anti-breakage serum

^ I use ALL three of these daily, sometimes twice a day and my hair still has swang for at least 5 days. :)
