I'm asking for help with my hair. Synopsis:

Transtioned for 13 and some change, BC'd 4/25/thisyear.

I've been co-washing/DC'ing/moisturinzing/sealing ends like no other. Last protein condtioning was in Mar. And yet........the RIGHT side of my hair (when styled, like a braidout) looks as if I had the style for a few days. It's 'fuzzy'/feels rough/dry on the ends (even when blowdried!) and frizzy all on that particular side--not to mention, the back is VERY short. I just trimmed (rather, CUT) some of the fuzzy pieces off this weekend!! So what's the problem??:wallbash:

Is it damaged? Breakage? Texture issue? Products? Moisture/protein balance?

I just want my hair to be healthy........so, please, any advice is greatly appreciated

It sounds like your moisture/protein balance may be off. You said that you've been "co-washing/DCing like no other", but your last protein conditioning treatment was in March. Your hair probably doesn't have enough protein to hold on to the moisture.

Also, have you clarified recently? The right side of your hair may be acting up due to product build-up.
 
You should try clarifying your hair and then DC (protein) so your hair can fully absorb the treatment. Protein DCs usually helps pop my curls back in place if damaged.

Also, your hair just might have different textures throughout your head. I have a patch of fuzzy nonsense on the bottom right side of my head and I just have to put extra stuff on that side to tame it. Shea butter could help with the fuzzy ends.
 
But what about the left side? If it was a protein issue, wouldn't that side 'act up' as well? Because it's THRIVING.....:)

You might have a different texture on the right side that may require different treatment than the left side ( which makes it that much harder for hair maintenance )

ITA with your post. Just because your protein sensitive doesn't mean you have to totally avoid protein in your hair care. You just have to use light protein treatments and not too often compare to someone who is not protein sensitive. You really need to do a protein treatment. Try Aubrey Organics GPB or Aphogee 2 min.

You need to do the whole head. What you do to one side, you really need to do to the other side. Clarifying your hair first might help with your problem too.

ITA with this. Anytime my hair is acting funny, I clarify and start over w/ a moisturizing/protein mix. Also your may have different texture and simply have to learn to work with it even it's annoying/frustrating.

How many times would I have to clarify? Once or twice?

Still doesn't explain as to why it's really short in the back...almost like I'm balding or something....feels thin. :(

It depends how much products you use on your head but I say clarify once every two months.
the nape hair is usually finer than the rest, so it's important to handle that area extra carefully.

Try not to brush that hair that much if you do. Instead, just use your hands and get a soft toothbrush to smooth them down. You may have fine hair in the back.
Also, try not to tie your head scarfs in the back. Sometimes hair can get caught in the knot of the scarf and break off. Make sure your headbands aren't too tight in the back either.
 
I'll try to clarify (can I use the Kinky Curly shampoo to clarify?) and do a protein conditioning, then DC (with some castor oil) and put in some leave-in and style, as usual.

Is this a good regi to do, or what should be added/deleted?

I know it's the new "it" thing but have you ever worked on porosity? or even checked the ph balances of your favorite products?

i optimize mine (not as often as i should) but adding things like aloe vera juice to my conditioners..... also noticed a huge difference when i STOPPED mixing conditioners

i think kimmaytube (check youtube) explained well also... the balancing of ph + which products she adds aloe vera or water to
 
Is it just the ends that are rough? Because it could be scab hair. Even though some people don't believe in it, just tossing that out there...
