how do you use your curl keeper? i have a liter bottle but don't think ive got the hang of it yet...

honestly...it's hard to totally obliterate my frizz as my hair just IS...but applying product to soaking wet hair, wayyy before even starting to style helps keep it at bay. for instance two wash and goes ago, i used lustrasilk as a leave in (the argan oil one which worked wonderfully might i add) i smoothed it through each section of my hair and bunned it up while i proceeded to style. i put the leave in on this way, and then when i take each section down i apply the gel.

kccc, ecostyler, and curl junkie curl fix worked wonderfully to smooth down the frizz.

oh and i keep a bowl of cool water nearby to rewet my hair when styling in case it starts to get dry.

The Curl Keeper is a pain in the arse, because it's so liquidity. I apply it like I do all of my gels on soaking wet hair in sections (pretty much like you). I used to comb my products through now I smooth/rake with my fingers.

Now, if I don't use a leave-in with CK my hair will dry faster, but it will be crispy. Coils will be defined, shiney and frizz free, but crunchy. I like to use a small amount of a light leave-in with it. I prefer Devacare One Condition or Knot Today. They're not too moisturizing and doesn't weigh my hair down. I need just enough so that my hair doesn't dry too hard. I want to be able to crunch it out when it dries and have "soft" hair. I get about two or three days out of it.

Ion Curl Solutions Curl Defining Shaping Creme for thick/ course hair does the trick for me. I love the hold. I use HE LTR first, then the creme. It's like a gel/creme and it smells DELICIOUS! If you're not into fruity smells you might not like it but I love it. And its pretty thick so when it gets warm again 2 do my WnG's, I'm gonna start mixing it with water. A LITTLE crunch (which I love) but beautiful shine and hold all day with little shrinkage w/ shingling method. No frizzies at all and ppl love my "fragrance" (i tell them it's my hair, not perfume lol) and hair when I use it. I also liked CD Hair Milk but I could NOT get over smelling like pinesol all day and that was a strong smell as well and other fragrances don't even mix well with it so it was hard to cover up. But the product itself did give wonderful results (shiny and frizz-free), but I still have half the bottle cuz I can't stand the smell. But some ppl like it i guess.
The Ion stuff is perfect 4 me.

ETA: It's at Sally's http://www.sallybeauty.com/Curl-Creme/SBS-302507,default,pd.html

Hey Miss, Diva,
Your avatar and siggy don't look frizzy... what do YOU Do?

That's what I'm sayin'!

I use HE None of Your Frizziness Leave-In Creme or IC Hair Polisher Styling Gel mixed with a little coconut oil. Either one of these keeps my frizz under control, mostly.

I have to work WAY MORE with my crown to keep it from frizzing up! Also, it helps to pull my hair back to the crown. In a true wash and go with no hair zing or headband, by mid morning, my crown is frizz city! I post the good pics, not the ones where I look like lion king! :lachen:

I have since found Victoria's Secret So Sexy Nourish and SheaMoisture Curl Smoothie as my leave-ins and it's A LOT better! Also, I have been paying more attention to my crown and putting product on that 1st, babying it, not touching it once styled until it's dry and using other LHCF sista's tips! Thanks, ladies!

I haven't found an all natural product that works well on my hair to control frizz. When I am really concerned about frizz I give in and use cones. I recently tried Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine anti-frizz serum. It worked really well on my twist out. It lasted 3 days despite 90degree heat, light rain, and humidity. I was pretty impressed and it's cheap:yep:. Shea butter or olive oil help but it doesn't last as long on my hair.

edited: I also wanted to add that when my hair is not properly moisturized it looks more frizzy IMO.

Curl Junkie Curls In a Bottle hands DOWN! I almost bypassed this stuff thinking it wouldn't do jack to define my hair and just got it for a little added frizz control and shine in conjuction with a heavier styler. I decided to use it one day as my main styler all over my hair, with just a little Eco styler on the top of my hair that needs a little extra control and I am hooooooked! It's lightweight AND defines! Keeps volume and body...I love this stuff!

John Masters Organics Citrus & Neroli conditioner as a leave in is giving me excellent frizz control. On my ends over it I scrunch Qhemet Burdock Root Butter cream or Botanical Spirits Almond Milk Butter, then KCCC over that to gel. JMO used to be a great rinse out conditioner for me but I guess my hair has evolved beyond it.

I bought the conditioner to use as a rinseout. It used to be one of my favorites and detangled my hair like a dream. My hair of today laughs at it so I use it as a leave in. I doubt I will repurchase because it takes a lot to cover my hair.

Whipped Shea butter. I add oils and water to my mixture the oils are to beef it up but adding distilled water to it is what really makes my 4b/4a curls pop.
As a leave in I love Rusk Sensories leave in. I add it to my hair when its wet and after spraying my hair with an reconstructor. Brush with a denamn brush and nobody can tell me nuthin'.:drunk: Ecostlyer gel and a good cream leave in also does wonders

damp/wet hair and ISO bouncy creme - soft hold GREAT def
ic fantasia gel with condish underneath or eco styler with condish underneath, firm hold with no frizz

or just condish with denman brush - moisture maniac or body shop honey. SOFT, SOFT, SOFT hair, ok definition.

Curl Junkie Curls In A Bottle
Isoplus Styling Gel (Light)
One N' Only Argan Oil Treatment

When I got a trim, my stylist put Rusk in my hair. It smelled great. I'm going to have to try this further.

What's body shop honey? Is it sold at the Body Shop stores?

Curl Junkie Curls In A Bottle
Isoplus Styling Gel (Light)
One N' Only Argan Oil Treatment

I've been trying to tame my PJism and not try Curl Junkie stuff but I may not be able to fight it much longer, Soror! :lachen:

Update: I have found that putting some honey in my deep conditioner works wonders! Thanks for those who suggested that.

Herbal Essence Hello Hydration, EVOO to seal, then LOTS and LOTS of hairspray. :-/ I've tried other things, but this is what works best for me.

1. Making sure my hair is well moisturized before I apply product

2. Redken Smooth Down Detangling Cream and Redken Smooth Down Sleek Obedience

I alternate between using giovani leave-in conditioner and lustrasilk cholesterol olive oil. I really like the results I get with the cholesterol as leave in/curl definer.

I also used to really like fantasia ic sparkle lites gel which is awesome for curl definition, but definitely builds up after a few days use.
