You did a great job! Did you just cornrow straight back? How many strands of hair did you put on each row? More specifically I mean, did you use a pattern such as 2-6-8? I'm asking b/c it looks like you used the right amount of hair. When I put mine in, I used waaaaaay to much hair!

I used two packs of freetress water wave which was JUST barely enough. I would have been happier if I had maybe five or six more strands to fill in the top a little more. I did corn rows straight back. 14 braids, 7 on each side with the part down the middle. The first 2 I don't think I put any hair on them. I know for sure the first 2 were empty. Starting with the 3rd braid I put 3 I think. Then 5, then 7 and then 9 and I just filled on on the middle four. I was more just by the look of it. I kept stopping to see if I liked the way it was turning out and I filled in accordingly. I hope that helps.

I got the same exact hair sitting in my room. I have 3 packs but I'm sacred I'm gonna mess up. After seeing this thread I wanna try it. It looks great girl!

What do you mean? You crochet'd 3 hairs on the third braid, then 5 etc?

And the first 2 braids has NO hair crochet'd in?

I don't even think crochet'd is a word. :giggle:

Lol. If it's not a word, I won't tell nobody. But as for your question, I used a youtube video by a youtube user named toy's voice. She probably explains it better with a visual than I can with words alone. But if you take one of the "coils" that the hair comes in, you can break it up into 3, maybe 4 smaller "strands". So when I say 3 on the 3rd braid, I mean I took one coil and split it into 3 smaller ones. And yes, the first 2 braids had no hair crochet'd on them. I think putting hair on the first two would make the sides too thick and you might end up looking like a lion or something. Lol.

I get what you're saying now. Thanks!

p.s. Thanks for explaining the process so well.

Looks great! I love crochets as a protective style and the water wave holds up very well with weekly washing and DC. I had my in for 4 weeks and took them out Monday.. and will be getting it installed again later this month.

I am so getting this done this weekend. It looks great. With the heat that is coming this will be perfect.
