Cantu Shea Butter Leave-in on blow dried hair. Especially at the ends to make sure it curls and locks the twist into place.

The one time I did a braid-out on straightened hair was an accident. I had been wearing my straightened hair in plaits and since I used to get to work before light, I'd fix my hair once I got to work--coz I had a few hours before start of business. I do not use my comb to undo my hair, whether braided or twisted, so I didn't realize that I forgot my comb at home until I had taken all the braids out. :whyme: Panic galore! I walked around the office looking for some comb somewhere until people started coming in when I proceeded to ask if any had a comb. While searching high and low, my boss came and remarked at how nice my hair looked and she guessed, "You crimped it right?" :look: :giggle: "Rrrrrrrrrrrright!" :yep: I agreed with a shameless face. And just wore it like that all day. I use a serum when I press my hair but no moisturizer coz I DC well before I press. So while I didn't really use anything to "set" my "braid-out" :giggle: it held all day.

Anyway, this is how it looked:

I've do this maybe once a year when I do a length check, because I don't want too much heat on my hair. I just use plain old shea butter (the pure one). :yep:

I like the results I get when my hair has been blown out before twisting. I have less frizz and more length. I use a small amt of gel or sometimes just a moisturizer. I'm on a personal no heat challenge so I haven't done this in a while. The pic below is a twist out from twists that I wore for about a week. I just used moisturizer on the twists , I don't remember using a specific styling products. If you are leaving the twists in for less time your probably will need a gel or setting lotion.
