I liked it the last 2 times I did and I think I will try it again tonight...anybody still doing this?

How long do you DC for?

What product(s) do you use?

I still dc on dry hair. I use GVP Cond. Balm and a lil EVOO. I usually leave it on for an hour without heat.

Yes I do.....I normally use Trader Joe's Nourish Spa mixed with Castor Oil, Joboba Oil and coconut oil...I use heat for about 15-20 mins....then I let it sit on my hair until I feel like rinsing it out...sometimes an hour...sometimes less or more

Still? I didn't know people stopped in the first place. I have and always will pre-poo or DC on Dry hair if I don't have time for a wet DC

I always DC on dry hair. For protein, I use a mix of ORS and Aphogee 2 min and for moisture, I use a skala masque (currently fruit cocktail) that I mix with some other conditioners that I'm trying to use up and oils. Typically I leave it in overnight.

I literally just washed out a dc that I did on dry hair. Unless I am shampooing, all my dc's are done on dry hair. It cuts out a step and gives me just as good results as when done on wet hair.

Same here, 2X a week I DC on dry hair with either Silicon Mix/Nexxus (at least an hour, up to overnight) then co-wash with either skala aloe vera or ceramides.

me me me . I DC overnight with Aussie Moist mixed with Vatika oil or Organic Coconut Oil and then co-wah. Its the bestest. Easy to detangle and great shine afterwards. I will forever DC this way.

Staple.

I DC on dry hair 2x a week. I apply my DC of choice then let it sit for about 15 minutes. Apply a little more then steam for about 30 minutes

Yuppers! I just did a thread on how awesome DC on dry hair is not to long ago! I just washed one out this morning, and I think Im gonna do it again 2moro (I havent been a very good girl with my DC's for the last few weeks!) I LOVE it, and Ill never go back to DC on wet hair AGAIN!! Currently Im using Trader Joes Spa Nourish, mixed with olive oil and honey. I heat it up, slap it on, and leave it overnight

Can someone explain what the difference is in DC on dry hair and prepooing?

I DC on dry hair with AO Island Naturals Condish for 15-30 then follow with my routine

I'm DC'ing on dry hair right now with NTM. I didn't know that technique had fallen out of favor.

I do it because I'm lazy - why go through extra steps? Hopping in and out of the shower is no fun to me.

Quick Question...I know that shampooing after a dry DC doesn't "remove" the benefits of DCing, but what about clarifying?

I finally found Skala products here, although the selection was very limited. I didn't find any of the Jaborandi or Avocado masques, but I did find one Shea Butter. So I snatched it up and I'll probably do a dry DC with it today. Now I get to see what all the Skala hype is about:grin:

That reminds me I need to hit up Big Lots before I leave and get me a skala haul.

I used to DC on dry hair but because I use products in my hair daily I was wondering if it was penetrating. How often are you all DC?

I only DC on dry hair, I get much better results.

Lately I've been doing a mix of ORS Replenishing & LeKair Cholesterol for 30 minutes under my Pibbs.

Matter of fact, I JUST went and applied the Skala Shea Butter masque to my dry hair, LOL. I also used some Lekair Cholestorol Plus. I don't know how long I'm going to leave it on though.

I still DC on dry hair and think it's the best thing ever!! So much more convenient then hopping in and out the the shower and I get the same results when I DC after shampooing.

ETA: I DC once a week before shampooing. I vary with DCs so now I am using CON Deep Conditioning Treatment and QP DPR-11.

Yes! Yes! I've been DC'ing this year on dry hair, with good results! I use any combination of cholesterol, conditioners, and oils. My last DC consisted of Silk Elements cholesterol, Biolage Ultra Balm and avocado/coconut oil. I use a heating cap 90% of the time, and leave it on for 20-30 minutes. :lick:

I DC on dry hair this way :

-Shampoo hair first(to remove build up of oils and leave-ins)
-Let hair dry completely
-the I apply my DC and go under the dryer for an hr

I used to DC on DRY, UNWASHED hair but I discovered that my hair benefits the most when I DC on DRY CLEAN hair.

I shampoo my hair on Friday nights, put it in a bun and sleep. On Saturday morning, I DC with Giovanni Deep Moisture or ORS Replenishing Conditioner.

Best technique I corparated recently.

I didnt know we had stopped usually i use lekair cholesterol or aussiemoist 3min or ors replenishing and usually from a hour to whole weekend depending on how im feeling

I dry DC 2x a week with SE megasilk mixed w/EVOO & EVCO for 15-30 mins w/heat and additional 1-2 hrs w/o heat.

Then I co-wash w/VO5 Moisture Milk to detangle.

This leaves my hair very soft and moisturized.

I don't but I like that alot of you ladies still use ORS :)

I just included this in my regimen :) so I am glad to see it still works for some. :D
