How do you ladies balance the two?

It's hard to keep my hair looking good while achieving my fitness goals! how do you ladies balance this? I am a sweat-hog, so my two textures definitely are noticeable! BTW...I'm 16 weeks post

I am in mini/micro-twists right now (no extensions)...I bun some too, but the mini-twists work for working out and work.

I wore a wig up until I was 9mnths post at the gym i would wear a scarf that I will wrap around my bunned cornrows in the back. Now I am in a full weave for the rest of my transition.

I only wear buns/hair sticks/updos/French braids in and out of the gym daily.
I'm 15 weeks post today.

If you wanting to wear your hair down after working out. I think if you cross wrap it and wear a scraf that should work. I just refuse to wear a scraf on my head in public.

fortunately, i don't sweat much in my head, so my hair is mostly unaffected.
in addition, the right products will definitely hold up against humidity so my style stays. for curly styles like twistouts, braidouts, bantu knot-outs, i like to use a foam wrap that provides hold. for straight styles, a light coating of some good old grease and pincurls will hold the style in place.

I actually don't really sweat that often and practically never in my head. That's probably because I like to work out in a loose tank and knee length leggings.

Maybe the tension/stretching method would help you to keep smooth roots? I'm sorry I'm not much help therefore I probably should just KIM

I sweat ALOT in my head so there's no keeping a wrap while trying to exercise. When my hair is done, I dont work out for that week lol so I wear a pony with a scarf to absorb the sweat while working out, afterwards I co-wash and set my hair for a braidout the next day or if it's during the day, I'll do a wash and go pony or bun.

I'm 9 months post, I have short layered inverted bob. The bottom layers of my hair are all natural.

I wear my hair straight on the weekend and in phony ponies during the week. I am also looking into half wigs.

I tie my hair with a scarf at night and wear phony ponies during the daY. as wet as my hair gets and as short as it is, there is no way I could hold my style and exercise.

I sweat mostly in the back of my head so the front edges/crown will still lay down and stay fairly straight if I keep it tied down.

OP I do exactly as LaFemmeNaturelle. That is one of the reasons I have worn a bun so long during this transition. I sweat ALOT, so I cowash frequently and braid. In the morning I attach my faux braid/bun and keep it moving.

I mostly sweat from my scalp so I usually wear buns or braidout ponytails to the gym. I save my cute styles for days I know I'm not going to the gym. On gym days I just try to make my buns & ponytails look as perfect as possible and make sure I rock accessories so I don't look so plain.

Thanks ladies! I'm single, and there are a lot of HOT men at my gym...so I don't want to be too "homely" looking! I'm liking the idea of a pony/scarf...My hair is almost SL, but in a bob...and It's part natural and part texlaxed...so that's what i'm working with!

I'm 42 weeks post and transitioning.

I tie a satin scarf around my head and exercise. I usually wear my hair with a part down the middle and a braided ponytail in the back. I love how exercising slicks my hair down even more. :spinning: :yep:

When I was transitioning I wore my hair in curly styles, or used headbands (most of the time it was in a short bob)

At my old gym there were quite a few good looking men there and I got the impression they were more into our bodies than checking out our hair. That's not to say you shouldn't care what your hair looks like but I think it's understood that our heads may get sweaty and our hair may not look on point. I know women who went to great lengths to protect their hair but didn't put that kind of effort in their workout.

I tend to put my hair in a bun, put on a black satin scarf over my edges and work out.
My hair is slicked down afterwards so I tend to put some more moisture into it before IO work out!
