I meant to do a bigger post than this for my 2 year mark, but I haven't been taking that many pictures lately of my hair. So here's my blow out and flat iron job. I blow dried and then wore it in a bun. Since I didn't do it on high heat (and am too lazy to sit there all day), some of the roots were still a little damp. I flat ironed the next day to allow it to dry some more and to allow me to rest for the job!

Here's what I did:
  • Shampoo'd since I was experiencing some buildup
  • DC'd with Giovanni Smooth as Silk for one hour
  • Rinsed, then applied Curls Lavish Moisturizer and Fantasia Heat Protectant to each section before blow drying
  • Applied a bit of JC Nourish and Shine to my ends, put hair in a bun
  • The next day, I flat ironed with Maxiglide (on 8, no teeth plates or steam) with a little coconut oil

I know I say this everytime I straighten, but this is probably the best job I've done. I did have to trim off about less than 1/2 an inch because I had a few splits and knots ( I've been very lazy with my hair the last few weeks, I've even fallen asleep without any sort of satin under me, so I wasn't surprised)

I guess I'm just barely BSL? I have as short torso though

Further goals:

  • I'd like to be full BSL and I'll probably stop at that.
  • I have a lot of layers, I may grow those out, I'm not sure.
  • Try more styles: Cornrowing and rollersetting are big on my list

It's been a good 2 years. I can't believe it's been that long since I cut my hair off and sat crying on my bathroom floor. Now my hair is probably the longest it's been in my adult life.

Love the thickness! Beautiful hair both straight and curly...Congrats on your successful hair journey!

Congratulations on your 2nd anniversary!!! Your blowout is fierce, have you ever worn your hair styled from the blowout? Oh and I love the bun, it looks so shiny and soft.

Thanks!

No, I haven't done much with blowouts, this is really the first time I think I've done it. I dont' blow dry very often and when I do I usually follow up each section with a flat iron. I might in the future.
