i go to a top 20 university, hold two jobs in customer service on campus, and am a leader in several organizations. not classy? the most girls without the class are the ones who are questionable BEHIND closed doors.

Where in that post did I say "not classy"? I didnt. And yes anyone can be the opposite of what they appear, but appearance does count for alot...

Did you mean to say with or without? I never said you can't attend a university or have a job if you have piercings or tattoos...come on...I'm just saying don't do anything too drastic.

love reading the opinions on here ladies!! iv always been told classy is a look, but then again every preppy (classy) girls iv ever met was either very bored and unhappy with just existing and not living or theyre were closet whores who covered up their insecurities by coming off as something people would respect because they had none for themselves. i dont think i would ever regret a tattoo seeing how i take everything as a lesson learned and we are all gonna die someday so it really doest matter, but i still dont want to get a pointless one. it sucks society is big on how you look rather than the type of person you are because generally they dont go hand in hand as much as ppl think :-/

Well I saw a girl the other day with purple and black hair...lol hmmm:scratchch She had purple streaks throughout the hair, I don't think she had a bang.

I'm totally into the alternative style. I have my labret pierced now and I use to have a bunch more on my face, ears and boobs (TMI, I know) but they closed up after taking them out for surgery. I love colored hair but was always to chicken to dye my own hair and as far as tattoos they are great but I have never found a design that I want. I say go for it! You only live once.

Being black has nothing to do with it(I've heard that alot too). I have a labret, tongue ring, nose ring, 5 holes in each ear, 1/2in gauges in my both ears (and I'm thinking about going up to 3/4. I LOVE my gauges lol), I have a big ol' tat of a Phoenix and my daughter's name and birthdate on my forearm (more tat's to come. I'm SO additced now lol).I also had pink, black and blonde hair up until last oct. I think it will be INSANELY cute!!! I used to dye my glue in's hot pink after I lost the bottom part of my hair to a bad bleaching and coloring.

If you want it GO FOR IT!!!

Oh man I use to have my ears gauged to that exact size. I sure do miss them.

the grandma tatt is nice & i may get a similar one, but im just curious why u want ur bff initials on u? is ur bff female or male? idk i just think thats kinda wacky (sorry dont mean 2 offend).

i luv all my friends & linesisters to DEF but i would never even consider tattin their name on me...why??? b/c friendships dont last 4ever no matter how close u guys r now.

I wouldn't get the tattoos on a visible part of my body because of my future career goals.
Tattoos are permanent (unless you pay the $ to get them taken off). Piercings are not permanent they will close up sooner or later.
All 4 years of high school I wanted a dang nose piercing. I got one my second year in college and took it out within two months. People just looked at me differently and it was not worth it. So I took it out and you can't even tell I had a piercing.
And people dye their hair all the time. Your time to experiment is when you are young. That is why college is the best years of a person's life because they experiment and find out what they like and what they don't like and ultimately find out who they really are.

im def. going to take a longer look at the tatts. i wont be getting my BF initials on there cuz who knows what could happen between us so true! i will try the purple hair but with weave until my hair gets longer and i can wear it straight more then ill die my own bangs. and i will get a lip piercing only and multiple ones in my ears cuz no one cares about the ears really. i always wanted a stud in the "flap" the thingy you put into your ear when somethings too loud (no idea what its called!)

I wouldn't get nobodys name or initials tatt'd on me. You never know what will happen 5 or 10yrs from now. I'm also not a fan of excessive piercings and tatts. That said, do you.

lol that's all my tattoos are...people names. lol but mine are family. to OP i say do what makes you happy but at the same time keep in mind that you are young (at least you sound young) youre best friend now may not be your best friend after you experience college and marriage etc.. as far as everything else goes i say go for it but keep in mind the things that life brings such as job interviews, school interviews, etc. Although we are in a day and age where tattoos, piercings, weird hair colorings are no where near the unusual, the old heads who still hold positions of power still have not adjusted imo. I just dont want you to manipulate your body in a way that would prevent you from being able to do something based off someones personal biases. you know this world is WAAAYY too judgmental. as for me. i have four tattoos soon to be 5 and 6 piercings. but looking at me you would never know. as a matter of fact i look like a l7 square lol

Hi I rarely post on here but but everything sounds okay but the initial's tattoo. Enjoy your individuality! On the other hand, You never know who you will be friends with down the line. This is going to sound crazy but my best friend stopped talking to me after my wedding. She was actually a bridesmaid in the wedding. She wrote me a letter a few months later saying that after I got married and was planning a baby that she felt we had nothing in common anymore and that was why she had been MIA. She felt that because she was living a single lifestyle and traveling a lot that we couldn't be friends, I still have not seen or spoken to her since my wedding in 2006. This is someone who I went to college with, lived with for a few years, was a sorority sister, and we knew each other's families well. I hope this does not happen to you friendship but you can never predict the future. So... just a word of caution.

I love tats and plan to get at least three more, but I would never, ever put another person's initials or name on my body (save my child and sometimes that's suspect!) As for the piercing, I say do it. If you decide that its a little over the top, it can close up. Purple bangs aren't permanent either, so if you like, do it!

I would recommend that you wait 6 months or more , once you decide on the tattoo because they are permanent. I also wouldn't suggest that you get a friend's name anywhere on your body because you will learn that ppl certainly do change (hopefully not in your situation, though). With the whole hair thing, I would suggest getting a weave (yet there was a former member who had pics in her fotki with cute colorful hair (i think her name was monikerr...search for her fotki))....At the end of the day, you are the person who has to live with your decisions

Yes to the weave and piercing. Those this can be changed easily. In five years you can take your lip ring out etc.

Here's my opinion- Gradual changes are better and ones that aren't permanent. Think about why you want these things and what is the purpose of it.

Start with the hair idea. It's temporary so if you dont like it just take it out. As for the tatts, I agree with most that your best friends initials doesnt sound like a good idea for a permanent physical modification. Also, keep in mind what your future career and/or personal goals may be.

as for the hair, why not, its not like you're damaging yours with chemicals to get the look lol hell a few yrs ago i bleached my hair a million times from pink to purple and more lol

i'm big on tats personally, my plan is to have my whole back done eventually. but i think you should put more thought into your tats, you dont want what a million chicks have. there's no point in that. think long and hard before you put something permanent on your body. i'm currently trying to draw something up to cover up a stupid tat i got while i was drunk (PLEASE DONT GET A TAT WHEN YOU'RE DRUNK!!) and its a pain trying to think of what i want that will cover this thing up with out looking like too much you know.

and for the piercing... go for it, you dont like it? take it out! lol easy peasy!

Again, I never said you had to look clean cut to have class, maybe that's just how you interpreted the post because I was talking about "appearance only". I have several ear piercings and a belly ring and I think that some tattoos on some ppl look fine. Nose rings look ok too. She is my exact age and I just thought she came off as "living in the moment" and I didnt want her to go overboard without rethinking things. I agree with the sow quote though.

SN: I saw another girl today and she had a black, purple, and green bang. The rest of her hair was covered with a black cap so I couldnt see how it looked. Must be a new trend? I remember back when girls would have black hair and the bang was bright red.

You can try the temporary tatoos thay they do with henna to see how do you feel with them. I personally love tatoos (not so many and no so bigs) i dont like piercings tho. And about the hair, goooo for it, if is not your real hair it doesnt matter, just make sure to take good care of your hair underneath =)
