Friend:You need to do something with your hair
Danibzz:I am doing something to my hair
Friend:yeah, you're just leaving it...You need to pick something and stay with it
i just wanted tolol let me calm down
by leaving it she was referring to my WNG
i am so tired of people saying negative things about my hair just because it's not straight.when i first went natural my cousin looked at me disgustedly and said "whats wrong with your hair?you need to get it blown out or something!"
obviously i dont really pay the ignorant self-loathing people much mind but it does get to me sometimes like HELLO this is how a colored person's hair grows out of their scalp

I'm sorry your "Friends" say those things to you. I think because we are still the minority (natural) and not seen all the time, people have not fully accepted the look.

We as a culture rarely see someone natural and when in fact we do, we think that person has "Good Hair", so they are the exception to the rule. The rule being.... relax it as soon as possible.

sure does because this is the same girl who sometimes cannot help but ask how i got my hair a certain way.some people are afraid to be different so much that they hate anyone who is.

I dont care what the haters say in the long run because everyone that's talking has lame, unhealthy SL hair and is always all in my hair oohing and ahhing at how long it is. There is just this disgust that comes up in people sometimes, and the disgust is really with themselves because this is what our hair is SUPPOSED to look like. I don't see any of the Caucasian girls at the private school i go to wearing afro wigs and getting curly perms to look like us so why should i try to look like them?

I completely understand b/c in my family both my sister & mother got some ish to say about my hair & I say to them "you must have forgot how your natural hair looks b/c y'all hair ain't naturally straight, you get a touch up every 3-4 months to keep it straight" and usually they stop talking.

I hear it all time. I get called names like "crack head" because I have stretched my relaxer for so long. The funny thing is, it is always the relaxed, chewed up end, hair never grew in the entire life span I've known them whose always got something to say.

I don't get annoyed anymore because one day- I'll get even. My hair will speak volumes and then I'll say: "YOU need to do something with that hair- like leave those flat irons and chemicals alone for a while..."

On the other hand. There are a LOT of naturals wearing WNGs and their hair looks a MESS!!! They always say that people are saying negative things because they are natural, and it's just not true. Their hair looks horrible!

All natural hair does not look good "out and free" just because it's natural hair.
