Is this really a DC? Someone mentioned that is has to have Polyquats in it it penetrate the shaft. Some how I don't think this is a deep conditioner...:ohwell:

I have used it as a DC but I added things to it, honey, oil, SAA. It is a good moisturizer or cowash though if you use it straight.

I've used it as a DC before but it doesn't feel as "silky" as when I use ORS. Maybe because of the silicone?

I feel bad that no one is answering. I don't believe in deep conditioning with commercialized products though so I have no answer for you. Hope someone chimes in.

Well I will say that lustrasilk doesn't have a long lasting effect on my hair...I think my hair NEEDS cones.

I like this stuff. I don't use heat with it though. Just put it on and put a plastic cap over my head. I like the way my hair feel when I rinse it out and I don't have to sit under heat to get the benefits.

I use it. But I don't consider it a good deep conditioner. I bought it because I needed something cheap to load unto my almost 14 weeks post relaxer new growth. I'll probably not buy it again. Africa's Best Mayo was alot better, IMO.

I have been using this for almost 2 yrs and it works great for me when I'm over 8 weeks post. I mix it with honey, and my oils and it works better for me on dry hair. It doesn't have any cones which I like, and it's cheap enough to try at least once and not buy anymore if you don't like it. I think Poka said she uses it as a leave-in for her wash and go. Ask her for more details

Hey girl. I don't like it as a DC but it is LOVELY as a pre poo and I have cowashed with it. I love adding some jojoba oil, a little bit of honey and some Suave Humectant as a pre poo.

Talk about beautiful soft touchable hair that lasts for days. I do this to my daughters hair all the time.

I don't care for it as a DC. It didn't moisturize my hair well by itself. However, when I use it as a leave in :lick:. Once I seal it, my hair is soft for days.

Lustrasilk and Lekair:
I contend that they are not deep conditioners. They are not marketed as one. The directions do not state to leave it on for any extended length of time nor does it say or give the option of using it with heat. As far as I can tell, there are no significant amounts of anything that nourish the hair from within or draw moisture into the hair shaft. Therefore, in my opinion, they are not deep conditioners.

As a leave in with a WnG it flaked and my hair was MATTED! Even after adding water like I usually do in a spray bottle, it was NOT working out for me. Not again.:nono:

This is what I thought, thanks for actually answering the question! :yep:

I didn't know you could use a cholesterol as a leave in :scratchch:

I wouldn't recommend it, but it works for some!

I bought it once because Bronzeg uses it.
The truth is that girl can use anything because her technique is so good.

For someone like me, I wouldn't even call it a conditioner. :nono:

Co-signing, it works really well for me as a leave-in. I steam it in:grin: and my waves pop for days. I tried it once for dc and wasn't impressed either.

Lustrasilk is the only thing I will use on my hair as a moisturizer/leave-in. I mix it with a natural oil and use it on my hair. I also use it in my daily spray bottle. I love the stuff and can not imagine using something else but I still say it is not a deep conditioner.
