I used to not use any shampoo, but since I wear buns everyday with hair gel I have to shampoo once a week to clean my hair. If not I get some terrible build up.

So question..
Let's say you just took out a weave or some braids and its been a while (3-4 months) since you have really been able to get to your scalp...you ladies still don't use shampoo? I have noticed that shampoo tends to dry my hair out but I feel like when I take down my installs I NEED to wash and feel the lather on my scalp...
For those of you that use Baking Soda only, how do you apply it to your hair to wash (Do you put it in a spray bottle, pour it over your whole head and wash etc.?) Also do you spray on your scalp and hair or just concentrate on your scalp and let it run down your hair?
I agree. I only use CON or some other conditioning shampoo. I have WAY too much build up with conditioner alone.
cowashing doesn't work for me too much build up BUT I am going to start not using shampoo I'll be trying indian powders instead. What do you ladies use instead of poo?
Ok, silly question..How do you know if your hair has to much build up.. Does ur scalp itch or hair stinks?? and how did you know co-washes didnt work for u?? TIA

I was never able to stretch my relaxers until I started washing my hair with baking soda. Shampoo always makes my new growth a little hard. Washing with baking soda makes my hair, even my new growth, really soft.
