Future ESQ. w/nice hair:)
I look at some many heat trained naturals...........what is the SECRET? I be walking around looking like who did it and why when I am stretching. What is the the secret........please help :)

My stylist uses lots of heat and very little product. I'm not sure how healthy that would be in the long run though.

Yeah the technique is no product, high heat and using the tension of the heat appliance when straightening

My aunt gets hard presses. Her stylist applies the pressing cream to her wet hair, blow dries and then presses with no further product added to the hair.

I know quite a few people who have the healthiest hair I've ever seen doing this every two weeks. Natural of course.

No setting lotion at all. Are you natural and will you be using a hot comb or flat iron?

I am relaxed with about 3.5 months of new growth. I want to get my hair straight for Saturday night without relaxing. I typically rollerset but I want my edges to be super straight and not poofy. I would love to transition to natural doing this. I don't use too much heat too often so Im not concerened about damaging it :)

Ok, you should be fine just use a reconstructor as needed and deep condition with something moisturizing before blowdrying and pressing.

It's all about the blow dry, IMO. When relaxed and transitioning I didn't even use a flat iron. Condition, condition, condition. Then find the products that your hair responds to best for blow drying. For some it's very little to no product, only a small amount of serum, or whatever. For myself, it's carefully applied leave-in and blow drying cream mixed with a little serum.

Since I'm natural I usually flat iron afterwards (although, incidentally, I didn't do it this week, just blow dried). I apply a serum before & after ironing. I generally have the heat up pretty high, like 380-410 degrees F.

oh and if you do use a hot comb - do not run the comb down your relaxed ends. If you do not know how to use a hot comb, please don't try to learn for your engagement on Saturday as it is a learned skill. Use a flatiron instead.
