BlkOnyx488 or anyone who knows, do you think it's possible to do crochet braids without really knowing how to braid? As long as the parts are neat and you can sort of braid down the hair could it it work?

Here is a picture of what I mean ( I apologize to the blogger in the pictures.)

Wow thats really bad....it wouldn't be a good foundation for crochet braids at all. Just practice braiding by watching alot of youtube vids on cornrowing and before you know it you'll have great cornrows to do any style with:yep:

Hey there
BMP is correct you need a strong foundation so you don't risk the fake hair weighing down the braid and breaking your real hair.

Based on the photos I can tell you that bloggers mistakes

it appears she braided over handed instead of under handed so the braid looks more like a french braid instead of a cornrow braid.

also the obvious the section are too big. sometimes it takes me 3 or 4 tries to get the parts decent enough. so taking your time is very important.

the last thing as you are braid and gathering hair into the braid, gather small section and keep a tight hold on each of the braid strands as your are braiding, but don't pull you don't want to break your strands.

Good luck let us know how you do!:yep:

You did a great job!!

I tried this the other day with the deep twist and couldn't stop the hair from unraveling. What was your technique to keep the hair from unraveling? Did you you use a special knot?

Mine never fell out, but I would do a knot check whenever I was watching tv. Once the hair got use to being bent that way it got better
but no I didn't do anything special to tie
just to or three knots

Ok I have to say I am really scared theses things are not going to stay knotted. Anyway here goes
Pic 1. my cornrows
2. the hair
3. the updo I will keep it in most of the time

I can not believe that with all the searches I did on crochet braids I never stumbled upon yours :nono:. WTHeck? Entyway - they look great. I want to wear my crochet braids back sometimes. Tell me how you did it. I can't/or can barely see your cornrows. What's the secret?

Take down is a snap
all you do is unravel the cornrows and the fake hair just slids out.
If you put a little oil on your hair it slips out even easier. I use Olive Oil water and a little leave in a spray bottle daily
when I took My braids down my hair was soo moist they slid right out:yep:

Blkonyx, was it easy to take out the first set?
